LIZA ROSIE, with respect to Kellie Leitch being “strong” on immigration, earlier you agreed with DAVE T’s comment “If he (Brad Trost) is in favour of a moratorium on immigration and refugees along with everything above, I know where my vote is going”, so I presume that is what you, and presumably many others, are ultimately looking for in a leadership candidate, I really don’t see how Leitch saying she wants face-to-face screening for Canadian values will achieve what you and many others want.
Her message of screening immigrants for anti-Canadian values has cleverly tapped into the angst that Canadians have about the entry of terrorists and too much immigration too fast, without her being explicit as to what she is talking about. Who knows? Is she speaking in code? Kellie Leitch is no Donald Trump in this regard! Those supporting her thinking that she is going to stem the tide of Muslim immigration with her vague reference to screening immigrants for anti-Canadian values, in my view, are being conned.
If you want to know what Leitch has in mind with respect to ‘anti-Canadian values’ she has declared as much on her Facebook what she means, namely, “Screening potential immigrants for anti-Canadian values that include intolerance towards other religions, cultures and sexual orientations, violent and/or misogynist behaviour and/or a lack of acceptance of our Canadian tradition of personal and economic freedoms is a policy proposal that I feel very strongly about.” Are you satisfied with that and that will stem the tide?

Trost and his stone age so con mindset will not get him very far. I bet he would not stick up for Muslim prayer the same way he sticks up for Christian prayer.

She wants to reinstate Harper’s visa requirement for Mexicans that Justin lifted. She wants face to face interviews and screening for Canadian values (as difficult as that may be to ascertain). Speaking of Canadian values she says, “We all hold these values in common and they make our country great. If we want continue to grow and develop that identity, we need to make sure that those who want to come to Canada share those values.”
I will admit none of them actually say they will reduce numbers. Lemieux says about the same things regarding face to face interviews. I believe it was Trost who said something like ,‘common sense policy on immigration’. Nobody is saying that much on immigration as far as details are concerned. Kellie is saying it louder and more often. I suppose Kellie isn’t really saying anything the others aren’t saying though, now that you mention it. I would assume they all agree on the Mexican visa issue.

I would really like it slowed or stopped for a time. If that is on the mind of any of the candidates they aren’t saying it out loud. I think we have been bringing in too many with Kenny at the helm when he was immigration minister and now it’s just stupid with Justin. I’d like to see immigration slowed to a fine trickle. In the front door, and well screened. No one demographic favoured, which would mean no more Muslims for a while, if I had my preference.

LIZA ROSIE, “I haven’t completely ruled out Kellie, but I get a different vibe from her, that I can’t quite identify. She is definitely saying the right words on a lot of important issues. Strong on immigration”.
Liza, a lot of people seem to have that impression of Kellie Leitch that she is “strong on immigration”. Help me understand what you expect as a candidate’s policy on immigration and why you feel that Leitch’s position on immigration is “strong”?

What I like about Scheer, Lemieux and Trost is that they come across as truly authentic. Trustworthy. You feel pretty confident that what you see is what you get and that they won’t pull any fast ones or stab you in the back. I haven’t completely ruled out Kellie, but I get a different vibe from her, that I can’t quite identify. She is definitely saying the right words on a lot of important issues. Strong on immigration. But that initial cave-in after the first rally identified an attitude of politically correct superiority that was very off putting. Alexander, Ambrose, Kenny and Jean as well. So sick of watching politicians who are so careful to not offend that they throw their base under the bus. Kellie is doing her best to counter that, but it’s hard to forget.

We need Brad Trost as PM.

He is against M-103, he wants to defund the CBC, he has Conservative values, he as two BAs, one in Geology and the other in Economics.

What’s not to like?

Re: Langley debate today, Trost doesn’t support safe injection sites, and agrees with Harper on pot.
I think safe injection sites are a waste of money and don’t address the problem. I do however think pot should be decriminalized.
Recognises carbon dioxide as necessary for life and rejects tax, rejects carbon emissions, Davos agreement etc.

Good post Terry.

Those that demand so much tolerance seem to show very little of it themselves..
Support Brad Trost for a common sense federal administration..!!!

Right on Brad! The only intolerant peoples in Canada are either Lieberal or Islamists!! & both need to be eradicated!
I welcome a charge laid against me for being Islamophic! I will defend myself & win – why because no learned person could possibly denie that Islam is barbaric other than a barbarian! These disgusting, sick, barbarians have no concept of love – except for the love of indiscrimate killing! When a parent can so blatantly load a bomb on their child to blow themselves up – in the lunatical dream of getting 72 heavenly virgins – is sick beyond repair!! Look around – what is their real message – to kill anyone that doesn’t follow their Satanic bloodthirst. Anyone who after reading the Koran – could possibly call that collection of barbaric hate & perversion sacred is a barbaric POS themselves. F**k Allah! He is the devil himself! Come & get me you sick muzzies!

John S more of your BS, and sorry but Iran attacks Israel by proxy quite often. If you knew anything about the world , you would see that. And by the way Sweden is almost fully subjugated.
And the Phillipines never attacked the Muslims, why are they attacking them?

I hope if Trost wins he can get the police to do their jobs when called upon instead of acting like they only work for the left and can ignore the law. Like everybody else I want to see the hate speech in these mosques investigated. That they hide behind our freedom of religion laws is no longer acceptable to Canadians.
How does a public venue get away with banning Trost?
HRC for saying ‘grace’?
My gut feeling is that Trost won’t stand down when the going gets tough. I am warming to him.

We always have and always will follow the lead of the U.S. regarding foreign affairs. We have the right to decline, but going in a different direction won’t happen. Trump has Mattis and ‘had’ Flynn (you can be sure Obama had a hand in that somewhere). I am confident Trump can get that sorted out. General Mattis is gold. A war strategist, not a war monger. For the first time in a long time I have hope that Canada under the right leadership could pull its weight in what ever direction the U.S. decides is the best. Trump wants to keep his nose out of other peoples business, but is cognoscente of the big mess that needs to be dealt with first. He is going to put the U.S. back in the drivers seat with out needless meddling. ‘Speak softly and carry a big stick’. ‘Peace through strength.’ He just has to shake off the dem knats first.

John Siciliano garnered 1.2% of the vote in the 2011 federal election representing the Progressive Canadian Party: http://www.yorkregion.com/news-story/1462961-progressive-canadian-hopeful-big-joe-clark-fan/
Now he’s back hawking the Canadian Action Party. You’re quite verbose. Let’s cut to the chase, John. Tell us: Is Islam a religion of peace? Yes? or No? Are those almost daily terrorist attacks around the world in any way connected to Islam? Yes? or No?
commented 2017-02-19 22:22:26 -0500
John; There is way too much deprograming to be done with everything you’ve said so let’s just start with one thing, Zionism. You need to know the first Zionist Congress was precipitated by a decades long wave of anti-semetism not because the Jews were religous, they had long thrown off that mantle through either conversion or Reform. They were now accused of being Asiatic and not belonging. Those who fought for their own little state, the size of Vancouver Island, were of the atheistic/socialist strain. It was almost entirely a secular endeavor. That strain is dying now as all “isms” outside of Orthodoxy always do.
There was no colonialism or imperialism invoved. They emigrated to their ancestral homeland, drained the malaria infested swamps and made the land green.

A government should never have the power to oppress free speech based on religious blasphemy – THIS is whay the ME is in ruin and why, now the capitolls of Europe burn.

I will not allow the imposition of religious intolerance in my country – M-103 is about imposing religious intolerance.

@john Siciliano….ISIS formed because Obama withdrew American troops. Obama thought paying “protection” to ISIS was a better idea.

Withdrawal and isolationism from the Middle East CANNOT be done until we are oil independant. Middle east oil interests fund or eco-nuts.

Newsflash, John.

We ARE a Judeo-Christian country. All our morals, traditions, and laws are founded on this basis – and this is a far superior foundation than the capricious, arbitrary, corrupt way of doing business that is the norm in the Third World s**tholes you worship.

Note that the trash of the world wants to come HERE, and not vice-versa. Now why would that be? It ain’t for the scenery and the cuisine.

Turkey, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe – these were all CHRISTIAN before Islam enslaved them at the point of a sword and tried to obliterate their cultures. Now the Moslems are trying to do it here, introducing their failed medieval ideology and importing strife and division – just like they have done everywhere else.

We say NO!!!

Our culture IS superior. Our culture IS tied to our Christian religion. If you don’t like it, please book a plane ticket to Saudi Arabia at your earliest convenience…

It is also not anti-Semitic to challenge Israel. Anti-semitism means supporting the kind of program that Hitler wanted.

Hitler was a dictator and totalitarian.

I support democracy and why I want a balanced foreign policy where we fight in wars that are legitimate and reasonable and not all the time.

Remember 7 to 11 wars have been launched by W. and Obama since 9/11.

They have created terror.

We can have freedom of speech and tolerance of Islam. We had that for the 20th century.

The question is why is it being used now? It is being used now to win elections and to pretty much win certain voting blocs.

That is what all parties have.

What will bring peace is alliances with other countries like Iran. Israel fears a strong Mideast rival like Iran.

Iran knows Israel has nukes and they won’t attack them. Stop making stuff up Drew!
commented 2017-02-19 19:35:46 -0500
I am just saying that we are not a Judeo-Christian country. We have always been for tolerance and openness and Jeremy Arney of the party I support is right that by us supporting NATO and being first world we project our strength over third world countries and are thus colonizers and conquerors and will be seen that way in the books of history during the period of 9/11 to now. People won’t care about the past because Christianity during those times in history was fighting with each other and with Islam. There was no bystander or perfect religion then and there sure isn’t a perfect religion now. Stop trying to lie about religions being better because there isn’t one. Having that superiority means that you just wish to support a religion to use it as a you versus them mentality. The fact is the West has been mass murdering for a long time, and we should have a secular state because we shouldn’t have a state religion. We need to have all religions be equal and no preference. Having destabilization within nations will only create civil war which I think right wing forces may want?! That is why we should not be distracted by Islam versus Christianity and Judaism because there are dozens of other religions and why should we only care about the big three when the big three are the biggest mass murderers!

In fact, atheism seems very much a better choice because we are a warmongering nation and Sweden and the Scandinavian states are mostly secular and mostly anti-religious and Iceland chose the correct route by jailing the bankers and focusing on rebuilding their nation without distractions.

That is why religion is the only reason why Rebel cares so much about Islam to play the clash of civilization games they like so much.

John S if your opinion is correct then explain Europe, they are bending over backwards for them and they are getting attacked more, are you too lost to see that?
commented 2017-02-19 19:31:28 -0500
John S you have no proof of your claims, and war will come to us , it is right now. And sorry but the war on terror has not created terror , they have been doing this since before we were around. Conformity does not bring peace.
