The police presser revealed that a large explosive device was found, which the Islamic terrorists intended to be used at a mass casualty event at Christmas.
"We believe that there was an intention to conduct what we call a multi-mode attack, possibly on Christmas Day."
Commissioner Ashton said police believed the plot involved the use of explosives and other weapons.
He said a number of high-profile Melbourne locations were targeted, including Federation Square, Flinders Street Station, and St Paul's Cathedral.
The story above may make you rethink the official story on this odd event also today in Australia, where a van full of gas canisters was driven into a Christian organization HQ. and burst into flames. Apparently it had nothing to do with terrorism. The name of the driver is still not released at last check.
