Breitbart Associate Editor Milo Yiannopoulos has offered Anita Sarkeesian $10,000 to debate him during the time of the year's largest video game convention E3.
Sarkeesian has been the cause of controversy in the gaming community when she raised over $100,000 to start her Tropes vs. Women in Video Games series.
Her videos examining women in video games have resulted in much debate amongst gamers and the way women are portrayed in them. Many within the gaming community consider her views to be radical.
In addition to the controversial, 'cherry picked' examples she presented, she has also refused to debate her critics.
Enter Milo Yiannopoulos.
In a post to Breitbart, he wrote, “Some people will find the idea of conditional charity distasteful. But it is my hope that Sarkeesian, who has to my knowledge never once agreed to a public debate or taken audience questions about her wild and offensive views on video games, will be motivated by this offer to join me in a live panel discussion some time in June, in Los Angeles, shortly before or after the E3 gaming convention.”
“Sarkeesian’s ideas are controversial, and extremely unpopular. And gamers have reacted angrily to her depictions of them as hateful bigots,” he added.
Yiannopoulos wants this to happen so badly he said that he'd let Sarkeesian pick the date, venue and moderator. And will agree to any reasonable security and format demands.
His only conditions are that the event will last at least an hour, be streamed live and questions must be taken by each speaker from members of the audience and from each other.
So far Sarkeesian has yet to accept the offer. Do you think she will? Sound off in the comments below.
