Brian Lilley: Ted Cruz is a breath of fresh air -- especially compared to Canadian politicians

Brian LilleyArchive

What a breath of fresh air Cruz is compared to some of what we have to deal with from Canadian politicians.

On my latest podcast, I also talk about Cruz vs. Kathleen Wynne, Harper vs. the Media Party, Canadian values being lost and much more:

Yes, Ted Cruz speaks well, I like some of the things he says, and does come from the right spectrum. I heard a Republican suggest Cruz was a Carnival Barker, frilly and short on substance, and he would not support Cruz. I’d like to wait and see the rest of the field before I pick a winner.

Broadcasting from an undisclosed location? Seriously, Brian? Please don’t rip off the great one, Mark Levin. LOL

I don’t currently own a gun, but I did…. for most of my life. I live in northern BC, away from the big cities. Guns were just another tool in the tool box; A tool for putting food on the table and a tool for protection while working alone in the bush. The primary protection that I had in mind was protection against aggressive bears and moose. I never thought of it as protection against threats of human aggression, but certainly it could double for that in the unlikely event that such a threat were ever to occur. The Prime Minister’s remarks were totally innocuous. The spin and “reading between the lines” by MSM , is a case of extremely creative ingenuity, twisting the meaning of the original statement into something totally different from the intent of the PM’s original words, for their own poorly hidden agenda. It was actually quite clever in a perverse sort of way….. if you think stupidity is ever capable of being clever. By the way, I’ve always believed that Craig Oliver is dumber than a sack of Door Knobs. I distinctly remember the “Murphy Brown” incident when US Vice President, Dan Quayle, took exception to an episode where Murphy Brown (Candice Bergen) was considering getting herself pregnant so she could fulfill her maternal instinct. Dan’s concern was that this sent a very negative message about the traditional family, citing absentee, neglectful fathers as one of the primary reasons for high crime rates and child poverty. The talking heads in MSM had a field day with it at the time. And Craig Oliver (I’m paraphrasing; I don’t recall the quote verbatim) said “Of course, that isn’t true! Fathers are not needed!”. Like I said….. Dumber than a sack of Door Knobs! I haven’t paid any attention to anything he’s said since.

I was at FreePAC Dallas where he was one of the people addressing. There were no teleprompters and I didn’t see him holding any note cards. Between his experience as a prosecutor and a 20-odd hour filibuster, I suspect rattling off a half hour speech is pretty easy for him.

I agree with you Brian, Ted Cruz is a breath of fresh air. His speech was inspiring and when I compare him to Obama, well, let’s face it there is no comparison. Obama is nothing but an evil loser and even though I am Canadian, I would love to see a principled MAN leading the US and repairing the damage inflicted by the current potus.

I am not sure of anyone in American politics so my views don’t count as a Canadian. I do know that every time I visited and met Americans I am treated well and when I mention I am Canadian their eyes get a little brighter and most are excited to meet me. A lot of my visits are not the normal big cities but smaller towns and boroughs. I have been invited to their homes for meals and conversation as they are curious about Canada and its politics and way of life. I never ran into rough Americans and think they are a rarity as I was never challenged in any way by speech or fist.
It doesn’t take much to be a good man, it also doesn’t take much to be a bully and bullied travel in packs like wolves as i have never met just one.
You run into a lot of them on coment sites where it is safe to shoot of your mouth. My moniker is not my real name for my personal protection. We have too many problems walking our streets and filling our courts with impunity. With what we pay the police and courts and prison system how come they always want/need more? I don’t believe crime is going down. I think the opposite is true. When your car breaks down you either fix it till it is dependable again or buy a new one. This legal system is rotten to the core. Too many laws have been changed to keep it that way.

Pre-emptively, I guess, Cruz has already put his birth certificate out there for public viewing, and it even appears to be a real one.
But more to your point perhaps, while the topic can certainly be discussed and debated, I’ve been led to believe that his birthright qualification can only be constitutionally challenged after he would be elected president, not necessarily sworn in, but elected, but I certainly stand to be corrected on this.

Doesn’t it seem a bit hypocritical how the tea party birthers don’t seem to have any issue with Ted Cruz running for president?

According to Trudeau and Mulcair, Canadians aren’t allowed to have their own values … unless they are the same as the Laurentian Elites themselves.

Love your intro on your pod cast.
Cruz is a breath of fresh air. Marco Rubio is also a True American patriot.
