He managed to take a position outside a compound that was once a base for former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. Once there, a single bullet was enough to punch through the senior ISIS commander’s body armour and kill him.

SAS waited for a week hiding less than a mile from the front gates before their attack. Express reports that “the shooting took place as Iraqi special forces supported by small teams of SAS troops began probing the outskirts of the city. Shortly before the sniper kill drones dropped two 500lb bombs inside the compound, killing dozens of militants.”
The terrorists who survived the airstrike fled in vehicles. As the ISIS commander tried to escape he was identified by the SAS sniper through his telescopic sight and shot dead.

A source told The Daily Star, “The sniper had a two-second window to shoot the ISIS commander. He took the shot and the bullet almost cut the terrorist in half. He was dead before he hit the floor. The sniper came to Iraq with around 60 kills but in the last few weeks there has been a lot of killing and he lost count of the number of terrorists he had put in the ground.”
What an absolute legend.
