First-responders run towards calamity while everyone else is running away, but apparently that wasn’t the case at Borough Market in the U.K. where Islamists went on a bloody rampage.
Guardian reporter Lisa O’Carroll noted in one dispatch that numerous witnesses said they saw police running away from the knife-wielding jihadis.
Granted, there was a pretty good, albeit incredible, reason these cops were running away:
They weren’t armed!
These police officers only had batons and mace, so they high-tailed it out of there while terrified citizens were left to use restaurant chairs to defend themselves.
But if frequent Islamic terror attacks in European cities is now the “new normal” as some fearless leaders suggest, why are certain police forces clinging to the “old normal” of having cops go on duty without firearms?
Theresa May proclaims “enough is enough”, but what does that even mean?
With about 23,000 known jihadis roaming the streets and only 3,000 monitored, why aren’t members of law enforcement packing heat?
What should cops do when they come face-to-face with a terrorist? Use harsh language?
