Bungie has announced they will be removing a gauntlet from the game Destiny 2 because it has what appears to be a 'Kekistan' flag on it.
On Tuesday the company tweeted out:
“It’s come to our attention that a gauntlet in Destiny 2 shares elements with a hate symbol. It is not intentional. We are removing it.”

Bungie CEO Pete Parsons followed up by quoting the tweeting and adding:
“At Bungie, our company values place the highest emphasis on inclusion of all people and respect for all who work with us or play our games.”
But what is Kekistan? According to Know Your Meme:
“Kekistan is a fictional country invented by users on 4chan’s /pol/ board as the tongue-in-cheek ethnic origin of “shitposters” known as “Kekistanis” who worship the ancient Egyptian diety Kek. In late January 2017, Kekistan began widely circulating on Twitter following its promotion by YouTuber Sargon of Akkad.”
Kek also translates to 'lol' in the popular MMO video game World of Warcraft. Yet again, embracing the power of internet memes.
However, the ultra-leftist Southern Poverty Law Center describes the Kekistan flag as mimicking “a German Nazi war flag, with the Kek logo replacing the swastika and the green replacing the infamous German red.”
All this over cartoon frogs and internet trolls. Let us know in the comments what you think.
