Embracing the junk science of “unconscious racial bias” has dangerous consequences

Tanveer AhmedRebel Commentator

You may have heard of studies showing that resumes with "ethnic sounding names" lead to minority applicants being rejected for jobs. In fact, just the opposite is true, as newer research has demonstrated.

Nevertheless, human resources departments and governments spend billions to eradicate so-called "unconscious bias" through quotas and other "diversity" policies.

Those who question these policies often end up like James Damore, the fired Google employee.

I explain why so many powerful institutions have embraced this flawed idea, and why this actually leading to more resentment and other societal harms.

I resent the all too common assumption being foisted on us all by the “politically correct” crowd that “racial” prejudice is part and parcel of today’s existence… You would have to be a fool to not recognize that there are great minds and great achievers from all races… BUT, that shouldn’t be quickly “skimmed” over into “cultural” prejudice as an automatic “negative”… I’ll be the first to admit that I do judge “cultural” values and have been doing so since the day I was born… There are “cultures” that I admire and can relate to… But there are definitely “cultures”, beliefs, and practices, that I abhor… Female genital mutilation being a prime example…

Great report Tanveer Ahmed.
Theory can and does fail spectacularly, this is a good example of it.

Job applications should be judged on qualifications and skills, not on Race. Of course in this day and age, it is the in thing to hire a Muslim. Why? You may avoid having your throat cut if you favor Junior Girl Guides.

Tis a strange strange world we live in, Master Jack.
