U.S. “built the equivalent of ten Keystone pipelines” while stalling XL extension on “climate change” grounds

Holly NicholasRebel Commentator

If the oil and gas industry is so bad for the environment and rising greenhouse gas emissions will contribute to catastrophic climate change, why is the U.S. so addicted to exports and building pipelines?

Aren’t they the ones pointing the finger at Canada for being environmental laggards?

In December of 2015, the nation lifted its 40 year export ban, and exports increased by seven times in three months.

That doesn’t include exports to Canada, which totalled just over 300,000 barrels per day in 2014.

The United States has built the equivalent of ten Keystone XL pipelines while figuring out whether to approve the extension. They’ve surpassed Saudi Arabia in oil and gas production with horizontal drilling techniques which have made their once inaccessible resources accessible, putting them into competitor status.

With the third largest oil reserves in the world, Canada has the potential to surpass the U.S. in production and exports but they’re not being tapped because we’re buying into the climate change and environmental fear mongering whipped up by a country that has surpassed the largest producer in the world.

By falling for the climate change ruse and allowing ourselves to be duped by a nation’s blatantly hypocritical government that clearly doesn’t have climate change and the environment in mind as they increase production and exports, Canada loses and we’re just where the United States wants us.

Lets say Trump gets in. He might end Nafta in a effort to avoid the lawsuit and its going to be messy because oil giants have a point that can be made in court and its hypocritical to be expanding pipe lines and production but not allowing the import and means to expand imports based on NAFTA.
We would be smart to be getting the east west pipe line done so that we can secure our own energy as well as provide export capacity or we will be in a Trade war of epic proportions trying to control a trade deficit if our oil heading south is reduced, slashed in price, or cut off entirely.
In any war you have to be able to maneuver you lose. When pinned down with no out, you’re a sitting duck and you lose. We shouldn’t have to lose. We need to secure our Energy security, east to west, have some modest exports to help balance our trade deficits, and we should be systematically looking at our trade deficit problems and reversing them
That also might mean we need to have alternate routes that don’t get used all the time like a route up to Hudsons bay for oil tankers to England etc. Or if need be around the bend and back up the St. Lawrence because we have morons in the east that want oil but not pipelines (go figure.)
Oil isn’t our only Energy product. We should be thinking Hydro and Nuclear generation. Putting a nuclear power station just south west of London Ontario for example would mean we could sell a lot of cheep power to the states and reduce their coal reliance and use more of our power to the East to trade.
The same can be said for Steel, for Water, for copper, for Nickel, for Fruit and vegetables. If the Gov’t is interested in Trade, It needs to help facilitate that type of expansion. provide incentives, reduce red tape, give permits, expedite studies and Environmental reviews providing back end advice as to how to make the process work faster and work on the trade side to make room for people/companies to export. The last thing we need is Justin dragging his feet and talking sunny ways while bullying in parliament about who knows what. We need Gov’t out of the way and/or on the side of people, because in the end, a trade deficit is our problem, our families problem that needs direct attention and Justin needs to get with it our get out of the way.

But don’t you see, these pipelines will be filled with magic carbon free non polluting American fossil fuels. It is only Canadian fossil fuels that pollute the planet.

Jim Clark, fear not. Your budget will take care of itself.

There are five Obama’s in this country all attacking Alberta on pipelines, and one of them is running Alberta.

No my problem.

Texas, indeed the whole of the energy-producing heartland of the US, is laced with pipelines. We can build pipelines and reap the rewards.

Western Canada would be wise to consider, once matters allow for it, being annexed by the US. Once Canadian oil and gas becomes American oil and gas, all will be well.

Good editorial. I learned something.

Last week Warren Buffet’s Railroad had a serious OIL Spill in Oregon . . . Yes the same Railroad that has made over 3 BIllion for ole Buffet hauling Bacan and Canadian Oil to the USA.
Obama blocked the Keystone Pipeline . . . and Buffet, one of his supporters has made out like a Bandit.
The insane Greenies prefer OIl spilled from Railroads to far safer Pipelines.
There is a reason they are called Enviro"Mentalists" . . . stay tuned for the Justin Butts Depression ! ! !

The regressive leftards - peddling and believing in fiction
There will be no more pipelines allowed by private companies, with the exception of power Corp. from Quebec

So we now know what all the hoopla is about with turdope and obama, how much does a state dinner cost, more than is evident. I guess the real question here, is if nutley and windbag are on the payroll also?

Again, it has nothing to do with CO2 emissions but economics. Follow the money and the idiotic Canadians may see that they are being manipulated by foreign interests. It should be a crime for foreigners to interfere in domestic poetics and the subversion of our industry expansion.

“…that clearly doesn’t have climate change and the environment in mind as they increase production and exports, Canada loses and we’re just where the United States wants us.”

Exactly. Not just the USA producers and exporters, but Russia, Middle East, Venezuela, etc. Canada is the third largest reserve, and there is no way these other producers want us to be able to produce and export. The money for the regressive left environmentalists to campaign came from somewhere, and it wasn’t wind mill manufacturers, but oil millionaires: the Standard Oil Rockefellers for example, Hewlitts as oil investors in Texas, Zukerberg in California, etc.

Canada is the only producer and exporter that is targeted by these people, and has the willing profiteers to front them. For example, as I have posted the question before, how did Suzuki become worth $50M+ as an average university professor and front man of a weekly CBC show. For whom is he also the front man?

What is required is that we give these rich faux environmentalists from the USA a cheap buy in and we will suddenly have promoters.

I can’t stand being on employment insurance. I hate it so much. There is no good work anywhere and I can’t afford to make sandwiches. I need oil and gas work. I needed Keystone, and a good oil price.

What’s PM Junior doing to fix all this? Nothing

Nothing will change with puppet master Butts controlling an EL BOW administration!

Thanks, Obama.
Thanks, Trudeau and Notley and Wynne.
Extra thanks to David Suzuki, neo-Marxist demagogue.
