For nine years, Canada has had a proud, strong, democracy-oriented foreign policy -- that our professional diplomats just hated.
They hated that Harper sided with Israel; that he was so supportive of Ukraine; that while we increased trade with China, he still criticized them for their civil rights.
Canada’s civil servants were not non-partisan. I mean, remember this super-gross scene when Justin Trudeau showed up at the foreign affairs office?
Well, they're so unprofessional that even foreign countries noticed.
Here's an e-mail sent to former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by Tom Adams, a U.S. diplomat:
“I was a little astonished at how openly the career folks at the foreign and assistance ministries disliked their new political masters (...) In my many years here I have never seen such open disloyalty with a change of administrations.”
The left talked about how Harper was hurting Canada’s reputation abroad, but in reality, they were the ones humiliating Canada.
Canada needs a conservative infrastructure to influence the culture!
