President Trump’s temporary pause in travel and refugees from high risk countries has provoked outrage on the left as we saw in recent protests at airports. The President’s opposition party, the mainstream media, has been equally indignant in their reaction and coverage with many dishonestly calling it a “Muslim ban”.
The reaction in Canada and with our media here has been similar.
We saw a tweet from Justin Trudeau suggesting Canada would accept all those the US would not, dishonestly including the words, “regardless of your faith”.
As has been pointed out by numerous other sources, this is not a ban, or directed at Muslims as can be seen by the absence of the most populous Muslim majority nations from the list, not to mention that the list of seven nations was compiled by the Obama administration as the highest risk nations for terror.
But Justin Trudeau wasn't the only virtue signalling Canadian politician to react to the Executive Order from President Trump.
Watch as I explain what BC Premier Christy Clark had to say when speaking to reporters at the Lunar New Year's Celebration in Chinatown, and even more appalling, Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson’s response to Trump’s pause.
The entire statement from the city is below but what is most concerning is the 3rd paragraph:
“We're proud to be the first city in Canada to bring in an Access Without Fear policy to guarantee that all residents - regardless of immigration status - have access to City services. Crafted closely with the community, at its core it's about human safety and dignity. We stand in solidarity with US cities like Seattle, Boston, New York and Chicago, who are standing firm as sanctuary cities, welcoming newcomers with open arms.”
“Access Without Fear” means, “Sanctuary City”.
In a city where people are being forced to leave due to insane housing prices pushed out of reach by foreign capital, the Mayor is using our tax dollars so illegal immigrants without any right to be in Canada, are given access to city services.
People who were born and raised here are being forced out because of the influence of foreign capital, but the Mayor is ready to welcome any illegal immigrant with open arms.
This is unbelievable. I’ve asked for clarification from the Mayor’s office and the Vancouver Police regarding what they’ll do should they arrest an illegal immigrant, but I have yet to hear back.
With the new Trump Administration’s crack down on US Sanctuary cities and in particular illegal aliens with criminal records, will there be a flow of illegal immigrants across the Canadian border?
And will they be welcomed with open arms by politicians like Gregor Robertson and Christy Clark? And will they do it regardless of the clear and present risk this poses?
