Canada's Filipino #GarbageShip part of international problem

Jessica SwietoniowskiRebel Correspondent

Here in Manila, it's clear that the Philippines is already a poor country. Small wonder that President Duterte is cleaning up the beaches and rejecting the trash dumped here by other countries including Australia and Canada.

Several years ago a Canadian ship loaded down with containers filled with our garbage was sent to the Philippines, and after disembarking last week for Canada it has stopped in several previously unscheduled ports.

To follow the strangely compelling mystery of the #GarbageShip whose repatriation is being warmly hailed by Environment Minister Catherine McKenna, please visit GarbageShip.com!

Stephen E. …….Can you imagine the Billions in ECO fees that we pay in Canada thinking the plastic is reused. Trudeau type Governments keep the fees and spend a fraction of them to send the plastics away. Thats great for Climate Change.

Why are we “dumping” our garbage there? Because someone was paid to take it for recycling, and then did nothing with it.
