Canadian media decides Native Halloween costumes and team names are racist

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

On Friday's show, I reported on the Canadian media's outrage over Native inspired Halloween costumes and team names.

Despite a Finance Minister hiding secret assets, an open-borders migrant crisis, and a federal government hostile to the energy sector, the Canadian media has Halloween costumes are worthy of their collective outrage.

The Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, and CBC have all put out articles declaring Native Halloween costumes racist. But would anybody that's actually racist against Indians want to dress up as one for Halloween?

Public schools have capitalized on this manufactured outrage by changing the name of school teams with Native-inspired names. Clearly, they've prioritized SJW outrage over the education of young Canadians.

Sounds like the mainstream media are advocating the destruction of the whole concept of why Halloween is Canada’s second best holiday. Kids/adults should have free reign with this holiday. The kid that dressed as the Pope at a catholic school dance was even given a pardon. His costume had its own irony. It was in the spirit of Halloween. I heard the woman speak about why she made a fuss and her logic was as silly as the media squealing about it.

As Libs pick and choose, if so concerned about halloween costumes, why not check out the gays on halloween. Iv’e got pics of it myself: dressed in Mother Teresa habits, laughing, and in St.Francis brown robes. .. jumping up on a life size crucifix mocking it.. how is that not offensive, but Native costumes and muslim ‘stuff’ are? No equality or diversity there. The whole thing is a joke. Diversity is a strategy to oust out jews and christians, a way of pleasing only those you care about. The Charter does the same… no unborn babies in the Charter! But hey, lets hear you answer how you justify ‘Christian costumes’. vs. native costumes? Why is it ok to mock Mother Teresa and her nuns, and Franciscans, but not Natives,Muslims? WE’re not gonna take this shit very long, Libs!

Canada has gone crazy. Im not even arguing with these morons. They are on a path to lunacy and you can expect what they will do next. Everything bothers them, everything is racism and sexism. They have no agenda, they’re bored, children have always loved Native peoples and have dressed up as them. Let the Natives decide, at least. The whole thing is petty and stupid. I’ts the shallow narrow path this goof as PM has us on/. Let’s get off it!

Paul Taylor: I agree.

Almost all of the “offended” are offended for others who, essentially, don’t give a damn. The only people these idiots are not offended for are Christians and Jews.

In their minds there never seems to be anything that Christians and Jews could be offended about, no matter how offensive it is. Desecrate any Christian icon, insult any Christian ideal and all is fine; after all pregnant or sexy nun outfits are cool, but never ever consider wearing a native outfit. Same for Jews. Remember and still be outraged about black slavery in the US, but tell Jews that its time to get over the Holocaust and concentration camps while you don a Nazi SS outfit or dress as a camp prisoner.

Apparently, there are rules to what you can consider as fun, and you better conform. (Vee know you still have family in the old country, and you wouldn’t want something to happen to them. Ja?)

Indian costumes and names are only racist to the limp wristed Lieberal snowflakes and twinkies.

I’m so damn tired of hearing “I’m offended take it down” or " I’m offended , ban it" or “I’m offened , I’ll sue”.

This country is run by a bunch of Lieberal pussies. Makes me sick to my stomach..

Please, somebody, stop the insanity!!!!
Ezra, you are so right and insightful. What part of this logic is being missed by so many? I don’t understand how someone could be so illogical to think this is racism.

Drew… By stating the obvious, I’m afraid you are just going to put a lot of tiny minds into a “tizzy”… Maybe even ruin their next couple of days while trying to “reconcile” that obvious double standard?…

Funny i could swear the useful idiots of the MSM are saying women can wear what they choose when it comes to the new law in Quebec, and now they are telling them what they cannot wear.

Cameron Tremblay, as a child, I wore traditional mukluks and I’m not Inuit. My grand-mother bought them for me and said they will keep your feet warm and dry. The other children wore boots made of rubber and had felt liners, mine were different and this didn’t alienate from my classmates. I still wear my favourite deerskin moccasins around the house as they are comfortable and durable; I bought them over 20 years ago!
The functional and comfortable footwear I choose to wear from time to time is now labelled as cultural appropriation by leftist regressives, and a few aboriginal people who jumped on this bandwagon of blame & shame. I don’t buy it, and, I think many Canadians agree with me.

Seriously, does anyone still pay attention those propaganda outlets?

… Cameron: Humanity is the bottom line. It is only the Left that cares about race anymore. Everyone else has moved on, learning to recognize and respect one another as individuals. This is the only true respect.
… Constantly pointing this out is the solution. Ridiculing the regressive Left.

Being allegedly part aboriginal in my genetic makeup, I was proud as a child to dress up as a mohawk warrior at halloween and often wore mukluks and mocassins in winter…it all ties into so many divisive islamoliberal fascists. Yes, I included islamo because they are tying into anything victim…
My question here is what do we do with all these extreme lefts? How do we reassert moderate liberal values over extreme left, political correct, goose stepping, militant liberals! They are so sterilized! I feel my nuts shrinking at the thought of them, they are so inhumane! They seem incapable of understanding humanity!

Redmen. Most of McGill’s male teams are called Redmen. The school’s colour is red, and the uniforms are red. Nothing to do with natives, but there is always, every few years, someone objecting to the team names. Redmen football, Redmen basketball, Redmen hockey… BTW, women’s teams are usually called Martlets, after the bird on McGill’s crest. Just wait – soon someone will have a problem with that, too.

So if a native dresses as a cowboy or Superman, will that too be racist? If someone who is Chinese dresses up as an ascot wearing beret wearing Frenchmen with a horizontal black and white stripped shirt, would that too be racist? Or is it only a white person dressing up like Charlie Chan? The list of examples goes on and on.

Its supposed to be a festive time when you dress up as what you are not. Other than a Nazi uniform or carrying an ISIS flag, everything goes, but people still dress like Nazis or terrorists. Alas, if people are having fun the thought police (PC SJWs) are out in force to tell you how to think and act.

… Dishonesty is natural to the Left.
… Of course, “racist” is a false smear. Would dressing as a cowboy be considered “racist”? Of course not. A Scotsman? No.
… “Racist” is a lie. No problem for the Left.

“They seek to divide us”, “Diversity is our strength”
These are the mantras of the Liebral / Left.
Actually they are telling the truth about themselves!
The Liebral / Left does seek to divide us through their policies of creating separate multi-cultural communities speaking different languages and this kind of diversity does strengthen the power of the Liberal / Left government by weakening the ability of any one group to stand up to the government.
However, In my opinion “Divide and conquer” would be a more appropriate mantra for the Liberal / Left.

Attacking children over their Halloween costumes!
A new low for the Liebral /Left think tank.
This cultural appropriation nonsense is yet another example of how the Liebral /Left seek to divide and weaken society through their multi-cultural policies so they can gain more power for themselves over all.

So exclude everything native from the public square. That’s not racist.

The media in Canada (cbc—ctv—global)are so far left it is shocking .

I’m dressing up as a true conservative member of the Royal Opposition. The last person to wear the costume was Claude Rains in THE INVISIBLE MAN.
