Caolan Robertson takes on Vice Magazine

Caolan RobertsonArchive

I just got an email from a Vice "journalist" asking for an interview. Surprised to hear its owners are still flogging that dead horse, I set out on an epic quest to answer questions such as: Is Vice still a thing?

(LANGUAGE WARNING)

What happened to its scattered remains, and didn't it die when Gavin McInnes left...?

Paul Dixon,

They are just words – get over it and stop being so sensitive.

People who are in their 40’s now – watched R Rated movies when they were kids too. Is the concept of sneaking into the theatre new to you or watching movies with their friends on VHS?

Jack: Hasn’t Vice been around for decades? Your comments have the familiar stench of Jimmy Da/Reese.

Jack: I hope that kids do not watch Gavin, Caolan, and Milo. But unfortunately, many likely do, probably on youtube. I am literally shocked by how many kids (grades 3-8) have watched movies, multiple times, that are supposedly movies for adults. I have taught elementary school for 18 years – the language that so many of these kids are comfortable with using – vulgarity – is mind-boggling (not to mention high school – yikes!)!

So where do they learn it – listening to parents who have watched and listened to it and use it in the home; from the adult movies their parents let them watch; from the trashy music they have incessantly on their devices; from the internet to which many parents allow them unsupervised access. To think that these kids are not influenced by the world around them is naive, at best.

So rather than just doing as you do – going with the flow and allowing culture to determine right and wrong – I refuse to surrender to where the world is going. I prefer to attempt to influence the world in a positive direction, one person at a time, starting with my own family. I attempt to lead, rather than being led like a sheep being led to the slaughter.

A little surprized that so many fell into the trap of responding to one of the annoying barking Pomeranians that sometimes grace us with their superior knowledge and brilliant commentaries. Petting them and feeding them will not stop the barking folks . Just ignore them and let starvation resolve the problem.

Keith and Helen Harvey,

Many many millions of people watch VICE. By comparison – NO ONE is watching The Rebel. Ezra would murder Brian Lilly for VICE’s media empire.

Vice is so much like the CBC I thought they were the American wing of the CBC, LOL. Close your eyes put a channel on and you don’t know if you’re watching CBC, CNN or Vice, they all look the same and tell the same lies. But they are great places to go and watch if you enjoy creative fiction. I believe Bill Maher is a Producer for Vice, that says it all, he’s an unfunny, clueless, blind, lying, jealous, unfulfilled pot head that barely has any gray cells left in that Grecian Formula Dyed cranium of his. Watch Vice, learn nothing. People come to The Rebel to be informed and hear the truth, including other networks like Vice and their dippy, left wing worshipers.

Mara Lowe,

People would say that you are in a cult.

Jack Carter is on the usual left mission: That which must be defended is highly suspect!

I myself ponder, if there was no Nazi Germany what would we on the right, more commonly known as “far-right”, be called when attacked and maligned??

Drew Wakariuk,

Even you are not this stupid, but maybe you are – VICE is huge, regardless if you like them or not. The Rebel isn’t even a pimple on VICE’s ass. Ezra would KILL to have a weekly show on HBO.

On YouTube:

Rebel subscribers – 656,812
VICE subscribers – 7,766,403

BAWAHAHAHAHAH!
commented 2017-04-06 22:21:53 -0400
Jack i thought you said the Rebel was dying? Seems they keep on growing LMAO!
commented 2017-04-06 22:21:18 -0400
VICE is crap. Rebel rules and VICE drools.
commented 2017-04-06 22:20:33 -0400
Jack Carter you are comparing a media company to one person? You are quite the friggin retard.
commented 2017-04-06 22:19:35 -0400
Jack Carter if VICE makes so much then why do they pay peanuts?
And if VICE is so smart why do they promote 1984 to resist Trump when it is about left wing progressive ideology that they support and push? They are the f*cking idiots.
commented 2017-04-06 22:13:23 -0400
Paul Dixon,

All I can say is that you are out of touch with the world today.

Also the clips on this website or a David Mamet play or movie are not meant for children. So your point about children is meaningless. Children are not watching Gavin McInnes.
commented 2017-04-06 21:51:55 -0400
Jack: I personally do not find vulgarity “colourful” or necessary for “add(ing) emphasis to what is being said”. I know that all of the people whom you referenced use it, even some brilliant people. That does not make it “normal” for conversations! Would you sit down to tell your kids a story and throw in some of the words that Caolan, Gavin, Lauren, or, heaven forbid, Milo use?! I hope not! And how about when having a conversation with your mother or grandmother? Again – I hope not! Why not? Because it is crude and inappropriate.
So we can agree to disagree on this. I find some words more mild than others in the cursing category, but the stuff that Caolan, Gavin, and Milo use is disgusting!
Do I have a 50’s mentality? Our kids and families would be much better off if we were watching “Leave It To Beaver” types of programs than the dysfunctional trash that they do nowadays. If you have never been an elementary school teacher then volunteer in a school and have your eyes opened.
So respond if you will, but include a comment on vulgarity and children. You have not touched on that yet.

Liza,

You heard wrong – Gavin was fired from VICE and allowed him to say it was “creative differences”.

This is why he is always bitter as fuck whenever someone asks him about VICE, because they made a shit load of money and became very popular AFTER he was gone – while Gavin has pretty much failed at everything and is reduced to doing stupid videos for The Rebel while VICE has an international audience and many millions of dollars backing them.

Paul Dixon,

You clearly don’t know what you are talking about. As I mentioned to Peter, some of the most brilliant minds in the world would curse while making their intelligent points.

They are just words, it’s can be colorful and add emphasis to what’s being said.

I guess you are not a fan of brilliant writer David Mamet, who is well known for his cursing dialogue in his plays and films. Look him up since I am sure you have never heard of him due to a lack in culture. Here is a taste.

Peter Netterville,

I have grown up and recognize what society and culture is like today in the internet age. I don’t have a 1950’s mentality like you do.

People swear. It’s just words. Gavin does it, Milo does it, Lauren Southern does it. It’s often used for emphasis. Some of the most brilliant minds used swearing like Christopher Hitchens. There is actually a point to it that has clearly gone over your head.

By the way, are you married – you keep ignoring that question.
commented 2017-04-06 20:22:47 -0400
Jack Carter: In elementary schools we do not allow the use of profanity, such as what Caolan and Gavin use so much. If you notice, virtually all swear words have to do with sex (or sex-related body parts) or religion. So we attempt to teach kids that these are sensitive topics, and really that these words are not appropriate for use in normal communication.
Rather, we try to teach kids how to speak properly, to help them expand and refine their vocabularies in order to prepare them for being positive and constructive contributors to society. All parents are onside with our goals.
Unfortunately, many do not advance. Many, sadly, regress to the caveman level and end up using the type of language that Caolan and Gavin use (I was one of them!). How many parents would like to have their 1st graders walking into the house after school and using some of these words in conversation at the dinner table. If we do not want our kids to use the words because they are inappropriate why do you feel that it is okay for adults to use them.
Jack – Grow up!!!

Jack blubbered, “Some of you old fucks need to join the 21st century.”

The “old fucks” here are real men, many who fought for your freedom in real war(s) so you have the freedom to call them “old fucks”. You need to grow up, Jack. Never mind, forget it, you will never be a real man.

Good job Caolan, your reports are starting to grow on me. We’re not in Kansas anymore and that’s all there is to it. How else to deal with the ridiculous left.
The last time I watched anything on Vice was when whats his name, the ‘ginger’ interviewed our Justin, the second last time was the Obama stroking. Both left me with a stomach ache which stayed with me all day. Obnoxious is about the only word I can think to describe those interviews. Yes Gavin was smart to get out. He sold his interest for a good buck I have heard, and was ‘on it’ to make the leap, before they started to fail.

There is no longer any time for the faint of heart. The gloves have got to come off. Its a dirty fight and the days of quiet indignance are over. You go Caolan !

Jack Carter, get back in the basement and stay there this time, you snivelling commie light weight.

Mr. McInnis was fired and is very bitter about the fact then Vice made millions of dollars after that – money I suspect he still feels he is entitled to.
