A lot of local people we've talked to say they don't object to this migrant "caravan" passing through their towns, that they welcome them and are happy to give them food, water, clothing and shelter.
However, we got a slightly different story from a Saluyan resident -- after we promised not to record his answers on camera.
This fellow told us that this generosity is really an attempt to make sure the migrants stay "calm" and don't get violent. "We were expecting destruction," the man explained. "Everyone was advised to close down their businesses" while the caravan was passing through."
Like so much we've encountered on this journey, everything isn't always as it seems.
