Cautionary tale for Albertans under NDP: “Creepy” images of human suffering in socialist Venezuela

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

Venezuela is falling apart. Everyday there is another story about how the Bolivar Republic is crumbling under its own weight.

There are food and supply shortages of even the most basic necessities. The Venezuelan government has resorted to confiscating produce from farmers and food companies. There are news stories every day showing the absolute human suffering caused by Venezuelan socialism. It’s all long lines, empty shelves and desperate faces.

What about their socialized healthcare? That “free” healthcare is what liberals and socialists hold up as pinnacle of socialist success. If you have state run healthcare, liberals tell us that you have unlocked a mystery level in the socialist video game of life. But what does socialized healthcare combined with extreme socialist government really look like?

There are new images coming out of Venezuela published in the Daily Mail. They show the absolute indignity of Venezuelan hospitals. It’s a revealing look at the long game of socialized medicine. There are little children in oncology wards gravely ill, lying amongst boxes and filth, patients warehoused in the hospital hallways, jugs of water used to treat patients who require traction to heal their broken bones, grotesque washrooms and bloody operating rooms.

Watch my video to see these horrifying conditions.

Only truly desperate people would take a child to a place like this, desperate people with no other means and no other choices. That’s what socialism does. It takes away choices and it confiscates your means. It’s a hope and dignity killer. Those images taken in those Venezuelan hospitals are of socialism, and they are pictures of evil.

These heartbreaking snapshots cross the line from being horrendous human suffering caused by bad government in a far off land to being a cautionary tale of the NDP.

NDP MLA for Edmonton-Ellerslie, Rod Loyola, was captured on video chanting support for Hugo Chavez, the former dictator of Venezuela. Chavez was the architect of the suffering we see now unfolding in Venezuela. Loyola worships him.

It’s creepy and gross. But it’s who the NDP are. In a perfect world, they'd happily repeat the mistakes of Venezuela here in Alberta.

ICLEI – International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives. Find out who they are if you want to know how the UN is using local Governments to initiate their Socialist plans. Find out what they mean by SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT? It is not what you think it is. If you don’t know who they are, than ask yourself why is most of Alberta, and Canada signed on to it?
The Country will not fall from enemies at the border, it will fall from Traitors within.

Horrible images of one of the worst health care places in Venezuela, and this is applauded because of it being free health care under socialism. Free health care not even fit for an animal. Yes Sheila you are right. Ndp is socialism and socialism is communism, very insidious political systems. People should look at what happened to Russia in the early 1900’s – just recently with communism before they ever vote for ndp again.

John Siciliano: One fact that remains a constant John. You are a complete idiot.

commented 2016-05-19 21:14:29 -0400
Well would you have known unless I brought it up which is easily accessible on Wikipedia?

The answer is most likely no because Rebel is not interested in facts but opinion and that makes them not credible.

John said, "People on here fail to mention that the legislative branch is in the hands of a neoliberal when Maduro is the president so both sides still have to share power. Another falsehood told by you Rebel. "

I forgot to mention in some comments directed at you that you are an idiot, so I guess that makes me a liar.

In case you did not grasp my sarcasm, John, I’ll explain. Just because Sheila did not go into the history and structure of the Venezuelan government in her report, does not make her a liar.

So, John, stop being an asshole by accusing people of lying when they did no such thing.

John Siciliano said, "And Sheila Gunn Reid fails to mention that Venezuela has been sanctioned since the 2000’s and yet she is writing this with a straight face, knowing that sanctions ruin economies. "

Though I question your use of the word “sanctioned”, the only reason is because they have oil the Americans want.

But all that aside, John, it is the conditions of living in Venezuela, a socialist government, that Sheila is referring to, not whether they are “sanctioned” as you say.

I guess my question for you, John; "Does a “sanctioned” state become a good state?"

@ Andrew Eden-Blafour – "Uh-huh, and yet the provinces that had the NDP in the past (Saskatchewan and Manitoba) are still standing today. "

Andrew, either you are ignorant of history or you are deliberately lying. Which is it?

All provinces that have had an NDP government (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Nova Scotia) the NDP destroyed the economy of that province or are in the process of destroying that provinces’ economy as is the case for Alberta.

If you do not believe me, Andrew (as I am sure your arrogance would not allow you to do), then check it out for yourself. The facts are all readily available through the Internet.

our children in Alberta are suffering from the ndp ideology of ndps right now Shiela..before we caught on fire.

People on here fail to mention that the legislative branch is in the hands of a neoliberal when Maduro is the president so both sides still have to share power. Another falsehood told by you Rebel.

They also never report on anything and they expect you to rely on their op-eds when op-eds are not credible or reliable when it is just someone writing their political beliefs when politics itself is partisan and subjective.

People should just check out independent sources and find out for themselves how many nations the US has launched coups against such as Roussef recently in Brazil and in 2014 in Ukraine.

This is something that Rebel is writing even though they are outright lying to you.

NDP Sucks, Leftists never learn from their mistakes. That is the sine qua non of their thinking. They also never learn from history (other people’s mistakes) nor are they capable of exercising discernment. “Professing to be wise they became fools”.

Saskatchewan died , BRAD WALL performed a resurrection and on to to a prosperous life
Manitoba was on the operation table , brought through by a team of conservative doctors, and is expected to improve

I keep thinking of immigrating to Alberta but I think you guys are just as screwed as Ontario is.

Andrew E-B,

Survival of a disaster is not the same as progress. McMurray is in survival mode now due to wildfires most immediately, but Non-Democratic Party politics before that. For sure it will survive both disasters and progress, but the people probably would rather have not been hampered by either disaster in the first place.

Same as Alberta will survive the Non-Democrats, but it would have been nicer to not have to survive them.

You would think socialists would learn from past mistakes but Venezuela is a good example of a bad example. I see Alberta going the same route as Ontario. Kill off coal fire plants, natural gas is a pooh pooh, oil is the devil. Go with green tech wind/solar bio mass that doesn’t work and costs a bundle. Destroy industry or drive them out and at the same time build up the public service voter base. Pay billions in energy contract cancellation penalties is just another percentage calculation on your electricity bill. Even a retard like Jay Kelly could do better than Notley and her cast of smiling dummies.

Venezuela will soon fall into civil war, that much is certain. This will be very instructive, not only for the NDP to surrender, immediately resign their government, have new elections, and accept the utter decimation and decertification that is awaiting them.

Or, they can remain and bear the full force of the violence that is coming their way. Oh, yes. Tyrannies tend to end badly.

Note that Loyola sings the praises of Chavez while living in an Alberta that still has some of the benefits of previous free market governments. He is not in Venezuela living his dream. I wonder why? Could it be that like all regressives in the Non-Democratic Party, he is just a hypocrite looking to feather his nest off capitalism while talking the talk?

Rod, give yourself credence, go live the dream!

Uh-huh, and yet the provinces that had the NDP in the past (Saskatchewan and Manitoba) are still standing today. Not to mention countries with socialist leaders like Chile, Lithuania, France, Romania, Czech Republic, Austria, Nigeria, Uruguay, Sweden, Botswana, and others actually have very strong economies.

Canada has to become Venezuela for the stupid Canadians to figure out that the libranos and NDP are pure shit.

This is the only way stupid Canadians (the majority of Canadians) will figure it out!!!

Proving yet again that old truth: “a socialist is someone who has bugger all and wants to share it with you”.
commented 2016-05-18 18:26:59 -0400
Implementing 21st century socialism by Chavez and continued on by the current regime has been nothing but destructive to Venezuela. Socialism is rooted in the suffering of the people.

Crisis in Venezuela Reaches Apocalyptic Proportions –

“The threats to the country go far beyond the shortage and rationing of food and medical supplies. Although Venezuela sits on some of the largest oil reserves in the world, it is competently dependent on hydro-electric power.”

You might want to expand the title to include Ontario.
