CBC, BBC scrub 'Ali' from Munich shooter's name

StaffRebel Columnist

Despite having seemingly no connections to radical Islam, the CBC and BBC scrubbed 'Ali' from articles about the Munich shooter with Iranian citizenship.

After Breitbart reported, the BBC refereed to the killer as only “David Sonbaly” on social media, TV and online coverage until they were exposed. They provided no explanation to Breitbart, but did quietly re-add the name Ali.

The CBC, meanwhile has chosen to refer to the shooter as simply as “ David Sonbaly” in a July 25 article titled “Mall shooting draws calls to tighten Germany's already strict gun laws”.

However, on July 23, in an article titled “Munich mourns after deadly mall shooting”, the shooter is in fact refereed to with his entire name, “Ali” intact. Why does the later article leave this out?

Worst of all is a July 24 Associated Press story posted on the site which calls the shooter simply “David S”.

History of Capital Punishment in Canada
Timeline of the Abolition of Capital Punishment in Canada

Updated February 03, 2015.
Capital punishment was removed from the Canadian Criminal Code in 1976. It was replaced with a mandatory life sentence without possibility of parole for 25 years for all first-degree murders. In 1998 capital punishment was also removed from the Canadian National Defence Act, bringing Canadian military law in line with civil law in Canada. Here is a timeline of the evolution of capital punishment and the abolition of the death penalty in Canada.

Crimes of murder, treason and rape carried the death penalty in Upper and Lower Canada.

Murder was classified into capital and non-capital offences. Capital murder offences in Canada were premeditated murder and murder of a police officer, guard or warden in the course of duty. A capital offence had a mandatory sentence of hanging.

The last executions took place in Canada. Arthur Lucas, convicted of the premeditated murder of an informer and witness in racket discipline, and Robert Turpin, convicted of the unpremeditated murder of a policeman to avoid arrest, were hanged at the Don Jail in Toronto, Ontario.

Capital punishment in Canada was limited to the killing of on-duty police officers and prison guards.

Capital punishment was removed from the Canadian Criminal Code. It was replaced with a mandatory life sentence without possibility of parole for 25 years for all first-degree murders. The bill was passed by a free vote in the House of Commons. Capital punishment still remained in the Canadian National Defence Act for the most serious military offences, including treason and mutiny.

A motion to reintroduce capital punishment was debated in the Canadian House of Commons and defeated on a free vote.

The Canadian National Defence Act was changed to remove the death penalty and replace it with life imprisonment with no eligibility for parole before 25 years. This brought Canadian military law in line with civil law in Canada.

The Supreme Court of Canada ruled, in United States v. Burns, that in extradition cases it is constitutionally required that “in all but exceptional cases” the Canadian government seek assurances that the death penalty will not be imposed, or if imposed not carried out.

From time to time I will post some questions just for the fun of it

Who was the first to say " I’M COOKED ON THAT SIDE; TURN ME OVER, AND EAT ME. "

I’ll post the answers at the end of Ezra’s show on Monday.
Just another reason to watch THE REBEL only $8 bucks a month or $80 bucks a year.
The only voice that shines a light on the news and brings you the news the other media won’t. Just think of all the comments you leave FREEDOM OF SPEECH….use it or loose it.

It isn’t just teh CBC & the BBC screwing the taxpayers with lies and propaganda. The entire industry went off the rails in 2001 when they become the lofty, lecturing voice from above.
The Society of Professional Journalists went deep into Pravda territory telling journalists how to lie about Islam. Being all obedient graduates of journalism school, none of them used their own thinking skills, or questioned the order.

Guidelines for Countering Racial, Ethnic and Religious Profiling — Cover the victims of harassment, murder and other hate crimes as thoroughly as you cover the victims of overt terrorist attacks.

— Make an extra effort to include olive-complexioned and darker men and women, Sikhs, Muslims and devout religious people of all types in arts, business, society columns and all other news and feature coverage, not just stories about the crisis.
— When writing about terrorism, remember to include white supremacist, radical anti-abortionists and other groups with a history of such activity.
— Avoid using terms such as “jihad” unless you are certain of their precise meaning and include the context when they are used in quotations. The basic meaning of “jihad” is to exert oneself for the good of Islam and to better oneself.
— Ask men and women from within targeted communities to review your coverage and make suggestions. (Means ask the muslim brotherhood to edit your story?)
— Seek out people from a variety of ethnic and religious backgrounds when photographing Americans mourning those lost in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.

Tighten gun laws? Yeah that’s a great idea, seeing as there’s about to be a civil war and every Muslim POS somehow gets illegal firearms, including this mall shooting loon and his 100% illegally obtained Glock.

Almost all Canadian media is pure shit.

Isn’t it apparent?

Would you be pissed off if your competitor was subsidized with billions by the Canadian goobmint ? Would you say something? I sure would.
So why is the media party so quiet on this matter??
That’s why all the news outlets write the same stories with the same opinions – ALL THE TIME!!!!!

The MSM and especially the CBC have never been organizations that I trust to tell the truth. In fact I would be extremely surprised if they ever did tell the truth or not twist every story to suit their own agendas.
One has to remember that this dastardly attitude is not new by any means. The lies these so called journalists and news outlets told and reported as actual events and the truth during the Vietnam war for example, was so horrendous that it negatively affected many, many lives of veterans both in country and returning home, in fact it affected how the war was fought and lost.
They were a propaganda machine for the enemy and were very successful at it, because the public believed nothing else but what they heard or read reported by these so called journalists.
Well, the exact same thing is happen now with Muslims and ISIS and lefty governments and their self appointed dictators like the ones in Germany, France, USA and here in our Canada, to name just a few. The so called news outlets are nothing but propaganda machines for these destroyers of freedom and Western society.
Hitler would have been so proud of the CBC, BBC and in fact all of the MSM, because they need no direction from government to do their dirty work. They are well versed in helping to destroy the West.
Philip Tessier said ‘The fu’kin CBC directors should all resign’, well that they wont do. But they should never be given the choice of resigning, they should all be fired and then arrested as traitors and either hung in the public square or thrown into prison and sentenced to hard labour.
The arrogant prick Hubert Lacroix who is the head of the CBC should be shot, with his choice of caliber.
I do not believe that we will see anything better until we get rid of Justin Mohamed Trudeau and all of his traitorous henchmen who should face the same fate as the CBC employees, except for Justin Mohamed Trudeau, he should be shot with no choice of caliber.

I stopped listening to the CBC “news” since Neil McDonald headed up the Jerusalem office of the CBC. I haven’t regretted it.

I sometimes watch the CTV National news, but with a curious and questioning mind. Of late I see a snide attitude toward Trump and a small smile creeping in when Hillary is mentioned. Same with Stephen Harper vs Justin Baby Doc Trudeau. But in general, CTV news is more or less anything US with a few Canadian articles begrudgingly included.

BBC news on cable, when I see reports about Canada, seem to be pushing a theme that doesn’t quite reflect the truth, but the stories do work in well with its world view. There is also only so much of gushy news readers you can take without becoming nauseated.

I’ve stopped reading Canadian papers. I’m tired of being told how to think. Much happier. Sometimes small local weekly papers are a better read. Definitely not the Toronto Star or the grammar poor Montreal Gazette (the Montreal Star is still well missed).

I’ve seen many times when it is an "activist"or a “militant” but rarely a terrorist. How selective! For most crimes the religion can be irrelevant. When it is a “refugee”, a mullah or iman preaching hate or a religion based terrorist group it is relevant. When it is a group calling for the death of another group within Canada religion can be very important. Same when they are demanding sheria law and Islamic domination of Canada. So much energy is used to avoid using the word “Muslim”

This is all to say, “I’m not surprised.”

Just spend one week listening to nothing but CBC Radio One, and you will be astonished at how biased and wanting in objectivity that neo-Marxist agi-prop organ is.

In Ontario (and I strongly suspect it is the same in other provinces) the OSSTF (secondary school teachers’ union) and the elementary school teachers’ union are both adamantly neo-Marxist.
The education our children receive in the public system is multiculturalist and committed to the cultural Marxist agenda, particularly in the humanities: English, modern languages, social studies, and so on.

The BBC and it’s sister CBC are, like our school classrooms, full of stinking Marxist.

We the people, own the CBC, we should have some input on how they convey the News to us. Politically unbiased truth, would be a good start.

On Friday morning last week, every news outlet reported on Donald Trump’s speech , using the exact same wording and terms. Trump’s speech was “dark” . The entire cast of miscreants, George Clintonopoulis , Chuck Todd et al used the same word, DARK. Apparently the idiots get their direction from the DNC and the White House and aren’t even “bright” enough to look up a different word in the Thesaurus, excuse the play on words.
It’s simple. We are being played by media in Canada, Europe, America, EVERYWHERE. It is not simple “spin” . That was last century bullcrap delivered to us on a daily basis. But today this is far more foreboding and sinister. Far more sophisticated and directed. In fact it is sophistry at its best . performed by the master of sophistry himself, Barack Hussein Obama.
This has worked its way into the new media which we call social media. Twitter, Facebook and Google are all manipulating the news to obtain their objectives, whatever they may be.
Case in point was the live coverage of the shooting at the McDonalds in Germany. Even Fox News reporter Shep Smith was doing his best to attribute the shootings in real time to a right wing extremist because the guy was dressed like a Neo-Nazi. It broke his heart when a witness, herself a Muslim recounted the shooter as yelling the now infamous Alahu Akbar as he was killing children.
For now, all we can be is non-believers. Believe in nothing that we are fed on CBC and CTV. The newspapers are all full of lies too , especially the Marxist Rag , TorStar .
This is what you get when you fill the schools with leftist professors who teach nothing but propoganda to their journalist students.

I don’t know why anyone even pays attention to CBC news anymore, I don’t. The CBC is the publication arm for the PMO. Card carrying Liberals are the only ones I expect to be watching constantly.
The rest of the MSM is slanted too, but not as bad as Justin’s publicist (CBC).
CBC needs JT’s ongoing subsidy because I’m sure ad revenue will be decreasing as ratings for CBC news continues to fall.
