The CBC recently went to bat for illegal migrants who aren’t having their cases heard on time.
According to the report, in the month of April, only 41 per cent of refugee hearings were held on time.
Sorry, but in any bureaucratic or legal process, stuff happens. Delays are inherent to the system, and sometimes justice delayed is simply that — justice delayed, not denied.
We are talking about receiving approval to remain in Canada after sneaking into the country illegally after all.
In the end, the CBC propaganda piece on delays completely misses the point, which is, it would be great if our legislators would get busy fixing the loophole that allows migrants to waltz across the U.S. border illegally in the first place.
The real issue is that the Safe Third Country Agreement between Canada and the U.S. has a fatal flaw that’s being shamelessly exploited.
