Charges laid in Sudbury by-election scandal, but questions remain as Wynne and Sorbara untouched

Brian LilleyArchive

Charges have finally been laid in the Sudbury by-election scandal.

Allegations of bribery against Premier Wynne and two of her messengers first surfaced in December 2014.

It only took ten months and, in the end, only Gerry Lougheed is facing charges..

From the beginning the delays and inaction on this scandal smelled of political interference from every level.

After all, there are even federal connections to both the Liberals and NDP in this story but those are just side issues.

The biggest question remaining is why neither Premier Wynne nor her Deputy Chief of Staff, Pat Sorbara, are facing charges. Questions remain and justice cannot be seen to be done until there are answers to these questions.

I think that Premier Wynne needs to take the sex ed course which she is pushing onto Ontario kids. That is, the course which teaches people how to engage in safe sex (screwing others) without it resulting in an “unplanned pregnancy” necessitating an abortion —termination of an innocent life.

Bill, I’m afraid you’re right… And what a sad commentary that is on basic justice in today’s Ontario… Indeed, not that different from the “banana republics” we used to sneer about years ago… The only hope is that Winnie The Poo’s transgressions will not have exceeded some “statute of limitations” when a Conservative government comes to power… And wouldn’t that make for a dandy election slogan: – “Winnie; you’re going Down!”…

Who really expects the equal enforcement of law or application of justice where the political elite in Ontario are investigated and tried by their own lap dogs – give the pot fantasies a break – Wynn would never see a day behind bars even if she was caught red handed over a bloody corpse with the murder weapon in her hand.

“The average OPP officer’s day includes much the same as yours or mine. Go to work and try not to get killed. Wait, that’s not yours or mine, that’s theirs. "
Well, unless you’re a logger…or a fisherman…or a miner…or a farmer…or a roofer…or a construction worker, etc.
However, BILL COLLINS, we are agreed on this point you made: “The bosses are the one’s to blame because they are beholden to their socialist liberal masters”

perfect example of liberal ethics.. a liberal quadriplegic is shunted aside in favour of a wandering ndp..

Why Wynne and Sorbara have not been charged is the $64 million question! I can only assume that the OPP are afraid to charge them – afraid of the repercussions to their rank and file. Do the people of Ontario who want this government changed have enough irrefutable proof of criminal wrong doing to petition the Lieutenant Governor to intervene and dissolve this legislature? There is a group organizing a “Resign Wynne Day” in early November. All Ontario voters who object to this government should protest with them at the legislature!

The average OPP officer’s day includes much the same as yours or mine. Go to work and try not to get killed. Wait, that’s not yours or mine, that’s theirs. The rank and file go to do good work every day. The bosses are the one’s to blame because they are beholden to their socialist liberal masters. Kathleen Wynne and Pat Sorbara will be protected because you have to dance with the one who brought you.

“A “politically correct” change in the OPP’s top command, just before Caledonia, changed all that… And it has been going downhill ever since…”

It happened much longer ago than that, ANDY NEIMERS. Thomas O’Grady (known as Tilting Tom to the troops) was the Commissioner of the OPP from 1988 to 1998. When Bob Rae’s NDP came to power in the early 90s, Tilting Tom responded to their lefty nonsense with alacrity, and replaced the last vestiges of meritocracy in hiring and promotion with a socialist stew that was equal parts Employment Equity Act and socialist labour drivel and snot. By the time his long reign had finished, he had ensured that the Force’s upper ranks were sufficiently well-stuffed with like-minded types, so as to make reverting to an apolitical, merit-based police force virtually impossible. And just to put the final nail in the coffin, he paved the brick road in gold for his successor – Gwen Jacobs.

I was watching the news at noon on the day that Bob Runciman announced Jacob’s appointment. I’m paraphrasing here, but this is very, very close to what he said with flags and props in place on the Kingston waterfront: “Ladies and gentlemen, the Government of Ontario and the Solicitor General are pleased to announce today the appointment of Gwen Jacobs to the office of Commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police. We want you to know that this appointment was made on merit alone, and that no other factors were involved in the decision.”

And at that point, every cop in the country with more than a few weeks of investigative experience, slapped their knees and howled in derision: “Liar, liar, pants on fire” – because one of the red flags of deceptive behaviour had just been raised: truthful people have no need to preface their statements with an excuse or an alibi.

Wonder how Gerry Lougheed like’s being Winnie’s fall guy…

Steve said, “Our system is becoming more corrupt every year.”

And yet the Liberals and NDP fight tooth and nail every reform to the justice system the Conservatives introduce. Me thinks they like the corruption.

Perhaps their owners, The Beer Store cartel, also has pull with the police. Wouldn’t want their investment to end up in prison. Our system is becoming more corrupt every year.

OPP are showing bias. By playing politics they now have become fair game in the election. This is going to hurt the Liberals. Think about it JT is connected to Gerry Lougheed who’s facing serious criminal charges. If the bias media party goes after Wynne and JT like they have Duffy game over but that will never happen. The pressure has to come from the Rebel and its supporters keep up the good work Brian.

After Harper wins in October, expect the RCMP to get involved.

Pig wynne is going to be in the fight of her life – expect to see wynne resign before this ends. Sorbara will also get charged, but that will come after Harper gets re-elected.

Pig wynne got away with it once when she was elected (no gas plant investigation), but not this time.

On the French debate,
I am not sure. Was Dizzy Lizzy Justin’s bitch? or was Justin Dizzy Lizzy’s bitch?
Talk about stacking the deck against PMSH. Why doesn’t Dizzy Lizzy just admit she is a Liberal.

I grew up in Ontario in the 50s, 60s and 70s when the OPP was still respected…. A “politically correct” change in the OPP’s top command, just before Caledonia, changed all that… And it has been going downhill ever since… No wonder the citizens are giving OPP cruisers “the middle finger” when they go by now… I will believe that the “Ontari-ari-ario” of 1967 pride, is at long last on the mend, when Winnie The Poo is indicted… Until then, it’s “business as usual”…

Ontario is already like Greece lol. They are the 3rd most endeared population behind Greece and Puerto Rico. To top it off Ontario and Greece BOTH re-elected governments that had proven track records of Socialist policies and adamant attitudes they could do what they want, damn world opinions. Alberta just chose the same path. Hysterical.

The point being, this story is the perfect example of why we need THEREBEL.MEDIA. The MSM just won’t do their job. They have long since abandoned journalism as a vocation and substituted red-green propaganda in its place.
commented 2015-09-24 22:57:48 -0400
Don’t expect the MSM to put any pressure on the OPP to charge whoever is chargeable in this case. They are all in the sack with the Liberals in Ontario. They’ll be trying to bury the story. Only THEREBEL,MEDIA will keep pushing this story.

Top Liberals are never held accountable in this country. A proof is a proof is a proof when its proven! Chretien has never been held accountable for Adscam!

Typical Liberals. A travesty of justice indeed.

I am with Hyacinth on this one.

You know Wynne will never be charged, the OPP are bought and paid for.
commented 2015-09-24 21:13:06 -0400
Wynnie needs to be charged, and justice will not be served unless she is prosecuted, and evicted from office.

Brian, great, keep pushing. Awesome work. I wish this to be a snowball effect, exposing and prosecuting all entitled beaurocrats. Its out of hand. Let’s know what’s truth
