It seemed fitting that as I was hearing about a special prosecutor being appointed by the Justice Department to look into Donald Trump and the Russians, I was also hearing the news that Chelsea Manning was released early from prison for handing over 700,000 files to WikiLeaks.
It’s funny given the obsession that the media and the left have had about Donald Trump sharing some information about ISIS, laptops and airplanes with the Russians during a meeting this week.
It was that revelation (that the president of the United States, someone who actually has the authority to declassify anything he wants to) that sparked calls for impeachment.
But Chelsea Manning, who was Private Bradley Manning when he released 700,000 diplomatic and military documents and cables (some revealing the identities of US assets and informants overseas) is held up as a hero.
Manning left prison early after Barack Obama commuted a 35 year sentence down to seven years. The Left is celebrating to the point of hysteria.
Any attempt to find Trump’s “Russian connections” will fail.
His sharing of the intelligence with Russia broke no laws.
Charges may come, but he won’t be convicted and if you look at what it takes to impeach, that won’t happen.
By the way: In the eight years of Obama, do you remember any special counsels being appointed…?
