Childcare question at Maclean’s Town Hall with Trudeau reveals progressive agenda

Brian LilleyArchive

Justin Trudeau took part in a Maclean’s Town Hall this week where he took questions from a variety of people with a variety of opinions.

Kudos to Macleans for doing this but one of the questions from a Chatelaine reporter, left me gobsmacked and perfectly demonstrated the clear divide that exists between regular people and the media elite, who are often left-wing activists, disguised as unbiased journalists.

I think the question also gives us a very clear indication of what the progressives ultimately want when it comes to childcare.

Justin Trudeau campaigned against government money for childcare --

If you want “good quality care” that comes from no one else but the parent(s). If you don’t want good quality care then ship them elsewhere.

Canada has one of the world’s foremost active experts today, Dr. Gordon Neufeld of Vancouver.2 Viewing the situation from developmental science and attachment theory tells a different story about the children.

Modern neuroscience shows that too much separation from loving adults – usually parents – in the early years can result in a chronically lowered threshold of anxiety through life.3 This means that young people would be more easily affected by stress even as adults. Recall that studies show Swedish youth are reporting heightened rates of anxiety and fear.

Glenn the effects on children ARE their concern. While both parents are gone to work the fact that they will control day care, means the government will be able to effectively
indoctrinate them.

I want a petition for Trudeau and Kathlene Wynne to both give up all armed security. Then we can both petition they both house Syrian refugees in their homes.

See there’s Tudeau’s kids’ nannies, then there’s Trudeau’s armed nannies… Is Canada an “equal” country if Trudeau gets armed security on our dime, but can’t have it ourselves, or be armed for self-defense. That is COMMUNISM my friends, its already here.

The real agenda here is to get both parents out of the house and working; then they can tax 2 incomes instead of one. When looked at that way, ‘universal childcare’ is actually a small investment to increase their overall revenues. The effects on children and families, obviously is not of their concern.

The true Victims in this onslaught of Child benevolence —-really are the Children and the hard working Parents that want to raise their own babies and not have some over -paid bureaucrat lurking around and advising them that their Son is really a Daughter.

I like how these Progressives always refer to childcare as “affordable” or “less costly” as if massive subsidies somehow reduces the cost of childcare. A space is a space is a space. The cost doesn’t change. Only the source of funding changes. Less costly for some implies more costly for others. I have no children but if the Progressives get their way my childcare costs will go up substantially. But Progressives couldn’t care less. They are quite happy to use government muscle to clobber their neighbours just as long as they get the stuff they want and it strokes their egos. What an utterly contemptible CLASS of people.

Propaganda machines are always going against the view of the people. That is why it is called propaganda. You didn’t think we really enforce truth? If we did, Trudeau and his daddy’s fossil buddies would be shut down.
I want to know how the Liberals paid off the 40 million they owed taxpayers before the election.

I had a chance to stop in at this “town hall” production by Rogers/maclones and the NAC. It was very scripted, Wells was his usual Liberal Shill and threw softballs, as were all the questions. This is the Future of Politics folks, Social Media and getting the womens vote. this will be a 2 term disaster for sure. God Help Canada, thank GOd for the Rebel. THEY HAVE CONTROL OF THE MEDIA. if they change the electoral system, you will never see another conservative government again, GO AND BUY A BROWN SHIRT AND RED SCARF….I am off to Panama, or other High emitting carbon nation that is underdeveloped…it is the only hope, follow the money. Thanks Brian

Is this any surprise. Had to find a way to “right” the wrong of placing personal expense onto tax payers pay. How else do you think this fraud of taxpayer money could be explained?
commented 2015-12-17 15:36:39 -0500
The question that the Chatelaine reporter should have been asking Trudeau is this……..when are you going to own up to the promise you made during the campaign & remove your childrens’ nannies from the gov’t payroll? That would have put him on the spot & embarrassed him enough to do the right thing.
No children in school, but we still pay school tax & now we may have to help with day care expenses. Ridiculous. Help the ones who truly need it & the rest, you can afford your own day care more than I can.

Our creator gave us free will, and anything or anyone that thinks they have the right to try and program our children to being good little automatons, needs to be put down. The unions need to be disbanded and removed from our schools, as this is how they have been brainwashing our kids for decades.

Brian let’s be honest about what the Prog elite really want:

Statist Progressia 5th column wants your child = the nanny state in the roll of “co-parent” wants early childhood indoctrination to political ( not moral or spiritual or intellectual) orientation gives social engineers an advantage to displace parent-actuated cultural or moral training by ingraining their political constructs as part of the child’s formative stages of life, so later political conditioning at state education centers is just a matter of ideological reinforcement.

Read a bit of the plans the proto Fabian socialists wrote of when global collectivist statism was in the planning stages 80 some years back. In their own words -

“Education should aim at destroying free will so that after pupils are thus schooled they will be incapable throughout the rest of their lives of thinking or acting otherwise than as their school masters would have wished … The social psychologist of the future will have a number of classes of school children on whom they will try different methods of producing an unshakable conviction that snow is black. Various results will soon be arrived at: first, that influences of the home are ‘obstructive’ and verses set to music and repeatedly intoned are very effective … It is for the future scientist to make these maxims precise and discover exactly how much it costs per head to make children believe that snow is black. When the technique has been perfected, every government that has been in charge of education for more than one generation will be able to control its subjects securely without the need of armies or policemen …. Diet, injections, and injunctions will combine, from a very early age, to produce the sort of character and the sort of beliefs that the authorities consider desirable, and any serious criticism of the powers that be will become psychologically impossible. Even if all are miserable, all will believe themselves happy, because the government will tell them that they are so.”

“I think the subject which will be of most importance politically is mass psychology … Its importance has been enormously increased by the growth of modern methods of propaganda. Of these the most influential is what is called ‘education.’ Religion plays a part, though a diminishing one; the press, the cinema, and the radio play an increasing part … It may be hoped that in time anybody will be able to persuade anybody of anything if he can catch the patient young and is provided by the State with money and equipment.”
- [ Bertrand Russell, member of the Fabian Society]

Ron Voss , First I mentioned in a whisper , then in a normal voice , and then in a shout and now a RANT AND RAVE. Capitalizing words is supposed to indicate shouting I guess. The phoney word Progressive is nothing more than a euphemism, a kind sounding cover word for communism. But really the communist left aren’t even hiding their true intent nowadays. I shuddered when I rolled past a lot of homes of our more senior citizens, all with Liberal signs on their lawns. None of them would have ever voted NDP. But the Ontario Liberal Party is the NDP masquerading in their former middle of the road costumes . The federal Liberals are the same .The only anomaly is Alberta and that was a fluke for them to get votes under their own banner.
We may have lost Canada. Ontario is filled with leftists. Ottawa is the same at the Federal level. And Alberta. Well at least the communist manifesto isn’t trrying to hide in the closet out west.
SO , how do we get this country back? Well you need an informed public , and they sure as heck are not going to be informed by an independent press and media. That ship has sailed with Captain Mansbridge at the helm, crewed by the Toronto Star. Uninformed , complacent and in some cases apathetic , the Canadian citizen needs to wake up and at least understand that our country is going down the tubes.

GERRY FLADAGER, “This P.M. from Que. and Broke Hussein Obama are both reading from the same book Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, on how the Marxists do it”. Gerry, I agree. Conservatives, unfortunately, are conducting politics as if we we are still back in 50s and 60s. To defeat your enemy you need to know your enemy, logical wisdom that goes back to a 6th century BC Chinese General, Sun Tsu, author of The Art of War.

But even the National Post, the article that Charles supplied, does not attribute the Notley policies as the main issue. And the video clip that they include with the article is Notley blaming completely the low price in oil. Of course she cannot admit the it is her policies.

Alberta has weather far better when the price per barrel was a lot lower. The reason it is so bad is because of Notley and it is obvious by that video clip she simply is too effing stupid to grasp that her policies are the real problem.

Brian, you rightly point out that the question raised by the Chatelaine ‘reporter’, a left-wing activist, clearly reveals the progressive agenda when it comes to childcare. However, please stop speaking in code words. The so-called “progressive agenda” is nothing less than the “communist agenda”! And you shouldn’t be “gobsmacked”, utterly astounded, by what transpired.
With respect to “Expand Universal Social Programs – End Poverty” in the 2015 election platform of the Communist Party of Canada one finds a call to “Establish a publicly financed and administered system of universal, quality, affordable childcare with Canada-wide standards”. Hmm.
Again, one should not be bewildered by this position by the Communist Party of Canada which can be traced back to the Marx/Engels Communist Manifesto (1848). For example, consider the following excerpts from the Communist Manifesto:
Do you charge us with wanting to stop the exploitation of children by their parents? To this crime we plead guilty. But, you say, we destroy the most hallowed of relations, when we replace home education by social…The bourgeois clap-trap about the family and education, about the hallowed co-relation of parents and child, becomes all the more disgusting…
Question 17: What will be your first measure once you have established democracy?
Answer: Guaranteeing the subsistence of the proletariat.
Question 18: How will you do this?……………………
Answer III. By educating all children at the expense of the state.
Question 19: How will you arrange this kind of education during the period of transition?
Answer: All children will be educated in state establishments from the time when they can do without the first maternal care……..
Democracy would be wholly valueless to the proletariat if it were not immediately used as a means for putting through measures directed against private property and ensuring the livelihood of the proletariat. The main measures, emerging as the necessary result of existing relations, are the following:….
viii.) Education of all children, from the moment that they can leave their mother’s care, in national establishments at national cost.
As I say repeatedly, “birds of a feather flock together”. Therefore, there is no surprise as to the source of Trudeau’s policies and those of the NDP.

@ Charles White who said, “… I enjoy this article by Ivision in the National Post about how the federal Liberals are taking notice that Alberta is no longer supplying the jobs for Canada nor able to continue financing Canada.”

It always takes hitting the pocketbooks of the socialists before they can grasp that the dismantling of the oil and gas industry in Alberta, as Notley the good little communist has done and the socialists have cheered, is a bad thing. Massive loss of jobs, many from other provinces and massive loss of provincial equalization payment from Alberta. And that does not count the spin off jobs from the manufacturing sector due to lost contracts from the oil and gas companies (usually located in Ontario).

The dipshit socialists will eventually grasp the relationship between oil and gas in Alberta and their bank account when the money stop flowing. Object lessons are usually the only way the dullard socialists can learn.

Rachel – I agree, I never even pick up magazines any more because they are loaded with leftist garbage. I haven’t subscribed to magazines in years because once they have you on their list, they sell your information, and then you receive an onslaught of junk mail, with the same communist messages. It is better to bring a book with you, than to pick up a magazine or a news paper anymore.
