Protests in Hong Kong over the pending “Extradition Bill” have erupted over the past week, causing 1 in 7 Hong Kong residents to take to the streets.
Angst over the bill is not restricted to the former British city, Canadians are taking to the streets in massive numbers too.
Nearly 1,600 Vancouverites marched outside of the Consulate General for the Peoples Republic of China this last weekend, outraged over the bill that will dramatically infringe the civil liberties of everyone in Hong Kong - including visiting North Americans.
All one needs to have done is upset a Chinese apparatchik, and Communist police could board your plane, arrest you, and put you on a non-stop flight to a gulag in mainland China.
The bill has been put on hold at the time of publishing this article, however political leadership has vowed to look at it again in the near future.
