On last night's show, I reported on a proposal by Toronto City Council to create a Muslim Youth Fellowship internship program.
The proposal is backed by Councillor Mike Layton (son of former NDP leader Jack Layton) and would create a special program that will only hire Muslims to work in the offices of City Councillors.
Applicants won't be selected by elected officials; that decision will be made by something called Dawanet. "Dawa" meaning Muslim evangelism.
No similar program exists for Christians, Sikhs, Jews, Hindus, or any of the other religious communities in Toronto.
But Toronto already has Muslim-only public housing, so this isn't a surprise.
