Clown Lives Matter: performers set to march in solidarity as disturbing clown incidents rise

StaffRebel Columnist

In the wake of numerous reports of scary clowns showing up near schools and terrorizing communities, professional clowns are set to protest how their kind have been treated.

According to Fox News, the clown community in Tucson, Arizona organized a “Clown Lives Matter” march Wednesday that’s set to take place Oct. 15.

AZCentral spoke to the organizer of the event, Nikki Sinn, who said this was a 'peaceful walk'. However, the event got bigger than she ever thought it would. “It was just going to be a fun night with a couple of clown buddies,” she said. But as the event was shared on Facebook, more and more people decided to take pat.

“This is a peaceful walk to show clowns are not psycho killers. We want the public to feel safe and not be afraid. So come out, bring the family, meet a clown and get a hug,” her Facebook flier said.

So far, more than 100 people have registered to take part.

Lloyd Nolan—great idea for some Rebel Cartoons of the left. Wynne and McKenna would make natural cartoons. Go to the Left sight " Montreal Simon"; they have funny cartoons on Harper, Jason Keeney and Michelle Rempel. The left has used cartoons more efficiently than us for some time.

Well if you can wear a burka and cover your face then why the hell not a clown mask. I hope they set a legal precedent.

I have to wonder about the timing of this creepy clown emergence. Is it simply a Halloween prank or is there more sinister motives. At a time when the public is already sensitive to terrorist attacks is it prudent to be pranking in a manner that cab truly frighten children. In light of the host of bomb threats phoned in recently and other threats from Isis about killing them in their quiet streets and in their forests and their parks I can’t help but being a little suspicious. There were a few situations in the U.S. where a clown tried to grab a child and another where they aimed a fake gun at a woman who then pulled a real gun on the clown. Hey I like practical jokes and pranks as much as anyone but you need to be sensitive to the times the ages of those involved and your surroundings. It would be tragic if someone ran into traffic and was injured or worse over what was supposed to be a prank. You also have to be concerned about someone using a disguise to commit a sexual assault or kidnapping.

People who want to support Clown Lives Matter, should remember that if they do, they will be supporting the Liberal Party of Canada.

Right up there with shoemaking, gem cutting, recycling, and banking one of the most time honoured Jewish professions has been clowning….you could cover a page in this forum with their names…I would suspect those who malign clowns as anti-semites.

Is that a photo of Princess Sophie Hasnobrains – really the Queen of Kitsch – in her latest designer getup and hair do?

To really scare everyone, will she sing? I understand that various riot squads have a recording of her singing and play it at demonstrations to disperse crowds. Both cheap to use and works so well.

Doesn’t North American society have bigger issues to worry about?

Clown Lives Matter…I like it. Show’s that society still has a sense of humour.
As far as scary clowns are concerned, it’s HALLOWEEN people. Take a chill pill and relax. It’s supposed to be a scary/fun time of year.
