CNN ignores pro-gun parents of Sante Fe victims

John CardilloRebel Host | Off The Cuff

On last night's episode of Off The Cuff Declassified, I compared CNN's coverage of the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High in Parkland, Florida, to the most recent school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas.

After the Parkland shooting, CNN hosted a townhall where Republican Senator Marco Rubio and the NRA's Dana Loesch faced tough questions from students and parents.

Texas is an overwhelmingly pro-gun state and the parents of the students in Santa Fe care about their Second Amendment rights, so CNN has no interest in giving them a national platform.

This is another reason Trump is right when he threatens to revoke the credentials of certain "news" outlets.

True, Drew.
In arguing gun control with our local Green Party candidate, I checked out our murder rates in Manitoba with those in neighbouring North Dakota. Manitoba is, of course, saddled with Canada’s highly restrictive gun laws. North Dakota has their Constitutional Carry Law. That means a citizen can carry a handgun without a permit if they have not been restricted by a court order.

Manitoba’s murder rate is around 4.2 per 100K. North Dakota’s is 2.6 per 100K. But still he insisted that the US has the highest murder rate in the world. Imagine his shock when the UN star showed the US is not in the top 10. Not in the top 20. Not in the top 30,40,50,60, 70, 80, 90 or 100. But they do have the highest gun ownership rate in the world.

Still he argued that gun control works until I showed by UN stats that the highest murder rates are in the countries with the strictest gun control laws.

One of the factors thetas never discussed by either side is the place of faith. Those areas with a Judeo-Christian and particularly evangelical faith are the safest to live in. Was nations move away from their founding Christian beliefs they become more violent.

“The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked” -said the prophet Jeremiah and time has proven him right. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is the only thing that can control our sinful human impulses. There are no technological of legal solutions to a spiritual problem.

Maybe Tom likes to bend over for the bullies.

Tom Bradly you do realize that Canada has more per capita violent crime than the US? The US has more shootings , but total violent crimes are lower per capita. Getting shot is hardly better than being stabbed or beaten to death.

CNN ignores reality and truth , not a big surprise.
