How dumb is your kid if you're paying $500K in bribes to get them into college?

Amanda HeadRebel Contributor

If you thought that Ivy league schools were the last bastion of meritocracy in America, you'd be dead wrong.

The FBI has made dozens of arrests in the massive, nation-wide scandal named for the 1990s movie Varsity Blues. Details are coming out showing exactly how wealthy Americans — including Full House star Lori Laughlin and Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman — paid to get their kids into the best schools.

Not through hiring tutors, but through paying for fixer William Singer to doctor photos and SAT scores to make these teens look like highly intelligent athletes.

How many hard working, deserving students were rejected thanks to these entitled, privileged families?

WATCH to hear more about what's been happening behind the scenes, and which schools are in the hot seat.

Why are there not laws to charge the people that take these entrance exam for these rich kids . A few year prison term would sure make someone think twice before doing it .

A brilliant woman I know who home schooled two boys who both broke records in university said to me…

“University is nothing more than a pretense for the wealthy to pass on their wealth to their children”

“Well, Whites living in poverty pay the price.. But who cares about them, right? "

Whites living in poverty tend not to get to university at all, let alone ivy league, for reasons that have little to do with school admission standards. (it’s easier to get in if you’re white than if you’re Asian, a different recent scandal). The opportunities exist, but they’re rarely taken. The same is true in Canada’s most impoverished (usually indigenous) communities – opportunities are widely available but not widely taken for complex social reasons.

Never watched the show, but isn’t there a tv show called Orange is new Black?
Well, they have two or more new actors.
Yes, they should be prosecuted.
Imagine all the lives affected, ruined. Careers affected, ruined.
Amanda makes a very good point that the kids would have to have known how and why they got accepted.

Question: How dumb is your kid if you’re paying $500K in bribes to get them into college?

Answer: As dumb as the parents who pay it.

I agree, Amanda. The same law must apply to small and great. Neither should it apply to just Republicans or whichever group is out of fashion this week.

Just getting into one of these so called Ivy League schools establishes your pedigree for life. You don’t need to be smart. You just play the game.Mommy comes to visit, faculty gets invited." Oh, Professor Johnson, Cynthia says you just love vintage wine ,let us send you a case,it was a deal at $500 a bottle.“It’s on us.”
Your Cynthia just moved to the head of the class.
And just how did Obama get into these schools? He had a benefactor ,one hidden in the shadows.

Does this mean no more “Shameless”? The show was hilarious… Now, we all know that Black Activists will turn this into a Race issue, which it is not.. It’s a Class issue.. Filthy rich people, regardless of Race, will do anything to give their useless kids an advantage.. But, we all know that this will be used to advance Blacks/Non-Whites.. Damn those filthy rich White folks… And who pays the price? Well, Whites living in poverty pay the price.. But who cares about them, right?
