Was it comedy or tragedy when standup comedian Konstantin Kisin was asked to sign a social justice “contract” prior to his gig at London University demanding that he steer clear of subject matter that might be too “triggering” for the snowflakes on campus.
And what are the no-go zones, you ask?
Well, there’s racism, sexism, ageism, classism, ableism, biphobia, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, anti-religion and anti-atheism, and because this is 2018, “Islamophobia” gets a special mention as opposed to being covered off by the term “anti-religion.”
In the final analysis, what is there left to joke about?
An incredulous Kisin recently posted the contract on Twitter, where it took top spot for the most unintentionally funny piece of black humour on social media.
Meanwhile, up in heaven, a roster of funny men from Don Rickles to Sam Kinison, weep.
