Confronting the Thibodeaus after $21,000 payout for English-only seatbelt sign

David MenziesMission Specialist

Chalk up another victory for members of the grievance industry.

For almost 20 years, francophone couple Michel and Lynda Thibodeau have been litigating against Air Canada due to the airline not being French enough for their liking. Case in point: They once took legal action when they ordered a can of 7UP in French and were given Sprite instead.

But they finally scored a victory in Federal Court recently. And for infringing on their linguistic rights, Air Canada must cut the Thibodeaus a cheque for $21,000 and write a grovelling letter of apology.

So I decided to pop by the Thibodeau's home in Ontario and spoke with Michel.

Well for a start you should have spoken to them in French not English to see is they could actually speak or read French. I don’t know what time of the day this was but it seems a bit weird opening your door in a housecoat, or do they make enough money out of it to not go to work?

Sean Penson I guess that means half the people in Quebec aren’t Canadian because they can’t speak English !!

Oh, and for all of you that have children, and grandchildren here in Canada. You best urge them to learn Arabic/Farsi.. Or, Mandarin/Chinese.. That, is their future. Even the French won’t win that battle..

Funny story.. In NS, I asked to be provided French language lessons, for free. After all, ALL recent Immigrants (in Halifax) get free French language lessons. I, (as a 3’rd generation European of Irish decent), was told that I had to “pay” for French Language lessons at a local French Language Institute.. Odd, I thought, that an Anglophone in Canada has to pay for French lessons, in a Country that forces Bilingualism on it’s populace. As for the Scots, Duke? I agree, and demand Irish Gaelic as well. My Grandfather spoke it, and he fought in both World Wars.. A little respect would be nice. Truth is… Not going to happen..

Sean Penson, Andrew Stephenson and John Wick et al support this leftist BS.

Why do we have only 2 official languages? Why not 20 or 30. The original aboriginals had many that were in use before either of the two solitudes showed up. Show some respect and get bigger stop signs to put more languages on. Why should anyone be left out?

“There are around 70 distinct Indigenous languages in Canada, falling into 10 separate language families. While in many places there has been decreased transmission of languages from one generation to the next, recognition of this has led to efforts by Indigenous peoples to revitalize and sustain their languages.”

Well let’s on with it! Sustain and revitalize these native languages by getting them on our stop signs!

Why not Gaelic to support the very early Scots contribution to the forming of our country? Why not Low German for the Mennonites who have been here since 1874? Why not Chinese for those who helped build or railways? Why not…? (Fill in the blank).

Think of how the SJW Offence Industry would thrive under this program. Job creation at its finest.

When the Liberals recreated Air Canada in its current form they forced French upon them for everything and anything. I was on a flight to Las Vegas. There were about five English speakers and 75 Mandarin speaker yet ever ten f—-ing minutes there had to be an announcement in French. That was my last, ever, flight on Air Canada. I would drive to San Diego before I will ever get on another Air Canada flight.

Fortunately Air Canada will appeal to the Supreme Court and they will win. These morons never got paid the $12,000 because the SCOC said that Air Canada was wrong but it wasn’t worth anything.

I would like to see these a—holes hit with full court costs each, and every time.

We have enough trouble of our own with just the ‘two solitude’s’ getting along in this country, yet we are importing even more diversity by bringing in a culture that demands elevated status over our own. There is going to be a heck of a tug-a-war.

Those complaints really make that couple sound petty and vindictive.

I’m on my way to the HRC for a $10.5 million cheque

So if I ask for a Diet Sprite and receive a Diet 7-Up, do I get my $21,000?

How do you say EXIT in French? Well, there is SORTI, or the more traditional EXIT (from the Latin EXIT)

Try getting away with this in Quebec if you are English speaking. Traffic signs are in French, but for safety reasons they must also be in English. Yea, right. But cross from Quebec into Ontario and, oh my, the signs are either bilingual or a French on with an English on seconds away.

Time to eliminate French as one of Canada’s official languages. The only places it is used is new Brunswick and far as Quebec goes the province never even signed on to the constitution. They should not have a say for that reason alone. That leaves New Brunswick with a population that is less than half french forcing the entire rest of the country to waste millions of hours and hundreds of millions of dollars to keep up this charade of bilingualism. Eliminate french now to save Canada from corrupt politicians and bureaucrats.

Is that how you supplement your income?
Well, hell’s bells, I need some money.
Somebody give me some suggestions cause I can’t even think the way these people do to conjure up a scheme like that.

It would be one thing if this bloke couldn’t speak English. Only a disgruntled French-speaking scam artist. But also blame the federal court for this sham.

Petty laws and regulations made for petty people like the Tibideaus . Isn’t it disconcerting that world wars were fought ,surviving depressions and starvation ,no work for the willing and here we are with people who have time for this nonsense.
How pathetic our society has become .

English by default is the international language of the world. In red China to obtain a higher education, one is required to have the ability to speak English.
Perhaps this Quebec’er should go to France and learn some real French.

I should sue Quebec for their inificent use of English on their bussiness and public signage…assholes.

Attacking anyone’s right to exercise their French language rights, is absolutely abhorrent!

Outside of Québec, French must be better entrenched.

To be fully Canadian, you must be bilingual
