Conservatives vote to end birth tourism crisis

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

On last night's episode of The Ezra Levant Show, guest-host David Menzies reported on Conservative Party of Canada members voting to end "birth tourism" at their recent convention in Halifax.

As it currently stands, Canada grants citizenship to nearly any baby born in the country. This policy is an anamoly in most of the developed world; Great Britain changed their rules in 1983 because the system was being gamed.

It's time for Canada to do the same.

WATCH my video to see how Chinese foreign nationals are abusing Canada's policy and costing taxpayers millions.

Andrew Stephenson claims: “The birth tourists generally pay the hospital fees, apparently ~10k, associated with giving birth outside a provincial health plan. BC spent 0.7m of its 17400m MSP budget on birth tourists in 2015, not trivial but not a “crisis” either.”

Really? I distinctly recall some ongoing lawsuits. Any fraud committed against the “system” is NOT trivial and should not have to be borne by taxpayers. Oh and by the way, it’s 2018 now, soon to be 2019. End of discussion.

What a joke. What a non-issue. What a fiddle-while-the-country-burns exercise in irrelevance.

Oh well, it provided the cowards and their membership with a pretence that they were accomplishing something, while studiously avoiding contentious issues like pipelines, border-jumpers, and supply-management.

Not all of China are gazillionaires. IF the Chinese gov’t wanted to to they could ship over several hundred thousand pregos that could over run us. Nah, the Chinese would never do anything so despicable.

What you have just stated however is another reason not to let them in. Hongcouver is unaffordable for long time Canadians and most of these rich folk coming got where they are by playing by the communist rules.

We are crazy to allow this country to continue to be flooded. We had better get someone in power who is going to do something about it, and quick. Time to batten down the hatches, and take this country back.

So Andrew is perfectly fine with taxpayers picking up the tab for foreigners gaming the medicare system? How gracious of him! "

They are after Canadian citizenship.

“Well, let’s see… there are 1.4 billion fo them and 36 million of us. Do we really want even half of China moving here and free loading like our “Syrians” are? "

Been to Vancouver lately? They’re the ones declaring no income, but driving Ferraris. Freeloaders indeed.

Actually, I am surprised that the Conservatives would risk such a position when they have so little backbone for similar issues.

How widespread is this “crisis”, really? Let’s be honest, most of them will be raised here and be Canadian in every other way anyway.

Jus-soli citizenship is very common in the new world including Canada, where high immigration rates and permissive citizenship rules have been the norm for their entire histories. Let’s be honest, most of them will be raised here and be Canadian in every other way anyway.

The Americans even have it in their constitution, so it’s not going anywhere.
