Ex-Pentagon analyst: Terrorism "is truly a clear and present existential threat"

Brian LilleyArchive

I interviewed Stephen Coughlin, a former Pentagon Intelligence Analyst who says the West needs to wake up to the reality of the terror threat.

Coughlin, who will be speaking in Montreal on September 16 and Ottawa on September 17, says too often our political leaders are acting out of political considerations and ignoring the obvious facts in front of them.

This was really good stuff Brian. Definitely passing it around to those I know who say there really isn’t anything to worry about.

Would it make any difference to remind people that ISIS started with a few thousand men not very long ago?

DANA MOORE, you missed my point as per “Islam is Islam there are no modifiers”. Like saying that there are Imams who adhere to the Qu’aran who are peaceful Muslim leaders.

Ron, you might want to check out Ezra’s, there are several imams that Ezra has
identified as radical.

This is another good reason for halting all Immigration to people who follow the Dogma of Islam and Sharia Law. Who needs them?

Admiral Ace Lyons chose the words of Erdogan (Former Prime Minister and current President of Turkey) to describe Islam: “Islam is Islam there are no modifiers” (presumably such as radical Islam, moderate Islam, peaceful Islam). Therefore at the end of the post above, I was struck by the reference to: “Who are Canada’s radical Muslim leaders?”

Harper’s long-campaign plan works in his favour, make no mistake.

For all you conflicted about women’s place in Islam, this story about violent clash between Muslims and FEMEN activists.

Yes, it shows they get one topless young woman onto the floor and violently kick her after she and her friend interrupted a pro-Islamic event. A feel-good story for misogynists.

Interesting the pentagon would see the same forces they have armed and set upon their enemies as being so uncontrollable they are now a threat to us, There is one certain cure for containing terrorism where it originates, and it isn’t war. Simply do not import it.

I hope come election time, people will come to appreciate Prime minister Harper’s focus on security and vote for a Conservative majority. I know that there are refugees that really need our help. But there are also terrorists among them. A Prime Minister’s duty is to govern with what is in the best interest of his citizens. Justin and Mulcair’s “Harper is only fear mongering” approach is not worth of a vote. The left wing propaganda machine, the CBC, is obviously promoting Justin and Mulcair’s demented views.

Did everyone see how much the CBC covered Jean Chretien’s statement denouncing Mr. Harper got. Of all people to denounce our PM. JEAN CORRUPTIEN. The most crooked PM in Canadian political history. Literally.

Re: comment by Ron Voss: “Admiral Ace Lyons, The Admiral ended with this stunning conclusion: “The Obama administration has a strategy. It is very simple. Any thinking American should be able to grasp it. It’s anti-American, anti-Western. It’s pro-Islamic, it’s pro-Iranian, and pro-Muslim Brotherhood.”
I agree but to me, it begs the question; if this doesn’t reach the definition of treason by Obama, what would?

This is brilliant Brian, Coughlin is a key player and his message must be heard. Hopefully you’ll have him back. I’ll drop another name in your ear you may or may not have heard: Dr. Timothy Furnish, who is excellent on the related ground of connecting kinetic activity in the Jihad world to Islamic history and ideology. Dr. Furnish has a PhD in Islamic History, he is highly articulate and very camera-friendly (and has given interviews on most U.S. networks), speaks Arabic, has served in the U.S. Army in Iraq, and is an acknowledged scholar in Islamic eschatology (to the point that he was invited to speak — and did, by the way — at a conference on the subject in Iran a few years ago). Like Steve, he also gives security briefs in the U.S., lectures in military academies on these subjects, and writes extensively. Check out his blog here:

GUY ANNABLE, thanks for sharing that link for the video which was described as “Secretary of State John Kerry introduces Admiral Ace Lyons to speak at a private meeting. He probably regrets doing so.”
The Admiral notes “We all say we have to identify the threat”, one of the rules of war necessary to defeat one’s enemy. He continued, ‘I think the one who identified it the best was Erdogan (Former Prime Minister and current President of Turkey) from Turkey when he said “Islam is Islam there are no modifiers” (presumably such as radical Islam, moderate Islam, peaceful Islam). Until you recognize that Islam is a political movement masquerading as a religion you are never going to come to grips with it."
The Admiral ended with this stunning conclusion:
“The Obama administration has a strategy. It is very simple. Any thinking American should be able to grasp it.
It’s anti-American, anti-Western. It’s pro-Islamic, it’s pro-Iranian, and pro-Muslim Brotherhood."

A ’must view" video for ALL Canadians, but especially for Mr. Trudeau and Mr. Mulcair. Thank you, Brian.

Coughlin pointed out that in his conversation with army or marine colonels who had served in war-torn Muslim areas that they were angry in that if they had known the truth about Islam when they were in command they “would have troops who are still alive”! In that context Coughlin’s other observation that spreading a false narrative about the nature of Islam, “you could say in a court of law it reaches malpractice” is sobering.

If we are going to be forced to ‘accept’ tens of thousands of more Islamists, on top of what we are already stuck with, considering even the obvious, not to mention stated objective of the Islamists to infiltrate jihadis into those so-called refugee herds and attack us on our home soil, then at the very least I demand to be able to carry around my legally owned side arms for self defense from the coming attacks, we have already been told to expect by the jihadi Islamists! WTF! I got an unalienable right to defend myself, and I figure, a duty to protect my community and country.
Shall Issue legislation, Conceal Carry and Castle Doctrine now. I refuse to be a victim…

I live next to someone who celebrates jihad. I have my target sighted, and I hope you all do too. Isn’t multiculturalism wonderful? My family I immigrated from the Philippines is great. Good strong people. My stepson even won Golden Boy western Canada. Some are able to appreciate what Canada has to offer, others want to bring it down to their inbred criminal psychosis

Thanks Brian, i don’t have any degrees but I already knew all this. I can’t believe how many people don’t. Denial to most folks is a river in Egypt.

Another thought. Have the parliamentarians attend [ invite with coercion :)] the meeting with Coughlin, after all the Lord Elgin is a short walk from parliament hill.
commented 2015-09-11 22:21:22 -0400
I agree Cathy. Interview should be shown to all members of parliament in regards to the seriousness of the terrorist threat

Oh Richard? Richard Brinkman? Where are you? Come out, come out wherever you are.
commented 2015-09-11 21:58:43 -0400
Coughlin, “I think the media is exploiting the situation.” Really? :-)

Enjoyed listening to Coughlin. Alarming to hear him say strategists do not take into account the influence of shariah law.

Most important, in my view, is Couglin’s observation how the large presence of Muslim Bros in the Pentagon influences thinking and decision-making. The threat terrorism poses to western democracy is not just external. It is also internal and domestic. Canada is the same. Huge presence of Muslim Bros in civil service, intelligence, Crown constitutional lawyers, police, doctors, business, insurance, etc., all or at least too many with a vested interest in replacing democracy with shariah. Inshallah, of course.

Stephen Coughlin is one very intelligent man. Thanks for bringing this to us, Brian.

This interview should be shown to all members of parliament in regards to the seriousness of the terrorist threat. It seems as though nobody is taking it serious enough, like Trudeau and Mulcair. Look at the flood of refugees in Europe where many of them are young men who are belligerent and screaming allahu Akbar and eff you and throwing the food donations away. Stephen Coughlin is right when he says you have to believe who the enemy says they are. Hitler said he was going to get rid of the Jews for years before the start of the 2nd ww and that’s exactly what he was doing in the war. What are the Islamic terrorists yelling about? They want to rule the world with islam and they want to come for Canada, the enemy. This is looking worse all the time. Just because people don’t want this to happen isn’t going to make this real and dangerous threat disappear.

Thank you for your work. This was an important interview and I will try to bring it to the attention of all my friends. Regards!
