Kellie Leitch is the Canadian Values candidate but so far, most of what we’ve heard about her plan to screen new immigrants has been through the smears and attacks from her opponents, the CBC, and the Liberal Party.
This weekend I caught up with Kellie Leitch to set the record straight on what she envisions for the screening process and how she plans to keep fighting back against the attacks from the politically correct crowd.
Watch as we discuss how Leitch believes its possible for every new immigrant to have a face to face interview, and the types of questions that could be asked.
I’ve liked a lot of what Kellie Leitch has been saying and even though economic issues haven’t defined her campaign, I appreciate that she’s willing to make a hard cap on government spending. That’s something the Tories never did even under Harper as they simply cut the rate at which government was growing.
According to a new Mainstreet Poll released last week. Leitch is one of the front runners in the race. The survey of party members puts her in second place at 21% support, just behind Kevin O’Leary who leads with 22%.
Leitch may find it difficult to win with the ranked ballot format of this leadership election because even though she’s certainly the first choice of many members, will she pick up enough second, third and fourth choices to ensure she ends up winning the race?
Time will tell but remember to stay tuned to The Rebel for all your Conservative Party leadership race news.
