Croatia – Don’t Join the Eurozone!

Martina MarkotaRebel Contributor

As a part of my Defend Croatia series, I’ve been keeping a close eye on the relationship between the EU and Croatia. As one country is leaving the EU right now, Croatia seems to be getting closer and closer to this union – but is it a good idea?

Today I’m looking at the news that Croatia will soon be joining adopting the Euro currency, and taking part in an exchange rate mechanism and currency that has almost collapsed the economies of other smaller nations.

I think it’s important for Croatia to believe in itself, and for the Croatian people to believe in their own economy. The Euro might be attractive, in that some people argue it is a stabilising force – but it can also be catastrophic for smaller economies that can’t handle the same interest rates as larger and more powerful economies.

Croatia – don’t join the Euro!

Anything designed to unify collectvist nations is doomed to failure. People need autonomy, not nannying. Croatia needs to stay independent. The bullies of Brussels can go fly a kite into electrical transmission tower lines as far as I’m concerned.

If I were in Croatia’s shoes and I heard the words European Union,I’d run as fast as I could stay away don’t touch it with a 40ft pole!!!If the UK had any brains they would have already been gone from the EU as well.
