Cultural appropriation “poster girl” stands firm on Chinese prom dress choice

David MenziesMission Specialist

The latest free spirit to wade into the PC quicksand that is cultural appropriation is Keziah Daum of Utah. It happened when she wore a gorgeous qipao to her prom last week.

Cue the outrage, because the dress is Chinese and Daum isn’t.

Some loser who goes by the name of Jeremy Lam, was among those who determined that Daum was a racist, tweeting out:

“My culture is NOT your goddamn prom dress.”

Sure, Keziah has received hundreds of negative comments from the usual suspects but that means there are literally billions of people out there who aren’t offended or simply don’t care about her fashion choices.

Even better, in the end this is a good news story because Keziah has a spine. She is not apologizing or backing down.

My wish for prom season is to see every gal who embraces freedom of expression and loathes the bullying tactics of social justice warriors, wearing a qipao as a haberdashery-like middle finger to to the mavens of political correctness.

“…okay then, if this Jeremy “Lam” is so offended…”

But he isn’t. He’s not offended at all. He’s just another silly little metrosexual who is nothing but a life support system for a 3-inch screen.

Can someone point me to the specific law that forbids “cultural appropriation”? Yeah, I didn’t think so. Leftards are making up “laws” on the go. Whatever makes them feel good is the law, according to them. Not in my book. Come Halloween I’ll be out there all day wearing the biggest Indian headdress I can find (or make). I’ll don moccasins, a colorful dress, a large pipe and sing Indian songs. Screw liberals. If someone gives me trouble, I’ll sue.

okay then, if this Jeremy “Lam” is so offended, then why is HE living in the U.S.?? I mean isn’t he cashing in on everything invented by the Americans and other “white” people?? I’m thinking political correctness and hate for the white man has pretty much gotten out of hand when the entire globe is cashing in on everything the white man built, invented and created- oh and our money as well and our modern, sovereign, wealthy nations. Don’t forget, if Henry Ford- a white American man hadn’t invented the automobile, Saudi Arabia and the likes wouldn’t be as well off as they are because the automobile and other white man inventions created the biggest need for oil!! And we won’t bother mentioning electricity, the phone, most modern drugs, medical advancements, airplanes and the list goes on and on and on.

Jack White, I believe it was the Americans who invented computers/internet and many other "electronic "devices- for their military.

Bin Laden Mohammad Zoolander Trudeau’s “Mr Dress up” trip to India was the biggest act of cultural appropriation in history ….no contest …so why are antifa terrorist leftard types silent on that ???

Funny this coming from Jack who lives in Toronto , the Canadian city that most wants to be American.

Bravo Zulu people like Jack are short on facts and only see this as a one way street.

Justin Trudeau’s India trip was the biggest case of “cultural appropriation” in history.

Bravo Zulu,

You might want to consider that the non-white Japanese were involved in the creation of computers, cell phones and pretty much every form of electronics known to mankind as they are far superior to America and Canada in this regard. Most of the major electronic companies are from Japan and only have North American divisions like Sony and Sanyo for example.

Then the next time you see a black man or woman, or a brown man or woman using those items – even under your rules – they are culturally appropriating others items.

Every time they take a trip in an airplane they are culturally appropriating as well.

Had a feeling you would intentionally miss the point and you didn’t disappoint, why is that not a surprise? The point is that the technology that you mentioned was not invented by whom you have claimed to but rather it was improved upon by them and improving is not coming up with the original idea and original prototype. But go ahead culture appropriate to your heart’s content lol.

Jack White technology came form many places , Japan was just the consumer branch for a while. And South Korea has surpassed them as has Apple.

It’s refreshing to see someone hold their ground under pressure from social justice bullying. I’m sick and tired of those who have to complain about everything, and especially about something as ridiculous as someone’s choice of a prom dress. It’s no wonder there are so many depressed people in the world. Pettiness is not healthy to the human spirit!

Good for you Keziah.
You are a strong lady, we hope for more people like you in this world gone crazy.

Improving a preexisting item is not inventing it Jack White. Actually that could be called cultural appropriation if you want to knit pick because they didn’t come up with the idea instead they appropriated it from someone else then worked on improving it. Suggested reading for you.

Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876. And then in 1900, on December 23 on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., an inventor named Reginald Fessenden accomplished a remarkable feat: He made the first wireless telephone call. He was the first to transmit the human voice via radio waves, sending a signal from one radio tower to another.

In 1847, English mathematician George Boole introduced a newly devised algebraic language built on Leibniz work. His “Boolean algebra” was actually a system of logic, with mathematical equations used to represent statements in logic.
Just as important was that it employed a binary approach in which the relationship between different mathematical quantities would be either true or false, 0 or 1. And though there was no obvious application for Boole’s algebra at the time, another mathematician, Charles Sanders Pierce spent decades expanding the system and eventually found in 1886 that the calculations can be carried out with electrical switching circuits. And in time, Boolean logic would become instrumental in the design of electronic computers. English mathematician Charles Babbage is credited with having assembled the first mechanical computers — at least technically speaking. ….

Good! She has more balls than most men I know today.

Yet the “others” culturally appropriate the airplane, the cell phone, the television, penicillin, the automobile, and more. In fact I see non-whites using computers every day – when in fact their own societies are so low brow that they for the most part still live in schitte holes and kill each other with rocks.

Why does no one ever complain about a black, a brown, a yellow or a red culturally appropriating things the white folks invented, made and accomplished?

Because they are jealous and nothing more.

Anytime someone tells you they are unhappy about some “imagined” cultural appropriation – simply look them in the eye and tell them to f*ck off.

Dare you to do this.

The offended little Lam posted garbage on Twitter and is probably facing ridicule…serves him right.
This young woman handled herself with grace. Her dress choice was beautiful.

And of course the deafening silence from lefties regarding “Mr Dress Up’s” trip to India says it all…………………..

Excellent fashion choice, Keziah, the dress looks great on you. Never back down or apologize to these self absorbed freaks. Post a picture of two of your dress to his twitter account every day, with the # LoserLam. Why relegate it to the Prom. Wear it often just to get the satisfaction of seeing a few exploding heads. Proud of your courage.

Good for Keziah Daum for not pulling a Shania Twain. People are getting sick of the socialist justice police. I have a hell of a lot more respect for Keziah Daum than I do for Shania Twain types.

Whatever happened to ‘her body, her choice’

I thought she looked excellent, it is a beautiful dress. Now, why isn’t Jeremy lashing out at Trudeau for his many cultural costume mistakes in India? I like to wear what I call my Cuba shirts in the summer because I buy them when vacationing in hotter equatorial climes, they are cool, comfortable, and nice for any occasion, so is Jeremy going to criticize me as well? How about when other cultures come to the west and wear blue jeans? Where is the outrage Jeremy et al? Keziah Daum, please carry on with this, wear what you like, you certainly make it look nice. As for the SJW, you are not even close to her class.
