While channel-surfing the other day, I came upon a TV station where some real drama was unfolding as Justin Trudeau was in the House of Commons addressing members of Daughters of the Vote, a group comprised of young women between the ages of 18 and 23.
Before the festering dumpster fire that is the SNC-Lavalin affair, these young women would have treated the PM like a rock star, but now the jig is up. Trudeau has revealed himself as a fake feminist — a man who has a hard time taking “no” for an answer from a strong woman like Jody Wilson-Raybould.
Even as Trudeau droned on about diversity and being a team player, a bizarre scene unfolded as one by one, several Daughters of the Vote began rising out of their seats — not to give Justin a standing O, but rather, to turn their backs on the PM!
By the end of his speech, an estimated 50 women were facing the other way giving him the sort of respect he so richly deserves.
This form of “discommendation” is something the entire Liberal caucus should have – and could have – done earlier this week. But they chose not to, drumming out Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott instead.
Wouldn’t it be great if all Canadians emulated the Daughters of the Vote by turning their backs on Justin every time he speaks?!
