Amy Lynn those companies have a user agreement that both sides agree to, it is a legal contract for both sides. If they violate it they are breaking a legal contract as well.

Am surprised. She (Ruth Ginsburg) is 85 and a1993 appointee of Democratic President Bill Clinton, is there no mandatory age retirement if serving the bench? If she was in another division of the public sector service she would be long retired. What are the mandatory retirement ages now? I read long ago they were thinking of revising them to higher levels.

Perhaps some of the law scholars here can advise the rest of on their legal credentials is have the law clerked for Ruth Ginsburg?

They intend to silence all opposition. Which make their elections illegitimate, and leave armed uprising as the only way to get rid of them.

Discrimination based on religious/racial/political affiliation seems feasible Amy. But as stated before even if it is a no win it will make waves before all the upcoming elections both in Canada and the US not to mention cost factor and it will make for interesting reading so is still a win even if the suit is eventually dismissed.

Hyacinth, what would people sue the social platforms under? Oregon Law protects same-sex couples against discrimination. As far as I know there is no law that protects assholes (Alex Jones) from being removed assholes from private platforms.

Is Canada a democracy? The only ones who actually voted for Trugrope were the voters in his riding in Montreal. Food for thought…

And remember that every elected official at all levels of government swear their oath to serve the queen, not the people. If no one showed up to vote in a Federal election, the queen would appoint a Prime Minister.

“Hyacinth, you may want to update your news sources. It was ruled that the baker DOESN’T have to bake cakes for gays or anyone he chooses. Thus, private social platforms do not need to provide service to anyone it chooses, no matter how much Cardillo cries about it.”

Re: baker suit.
Looked it up more indepth, ok, you are correct in only ONE aspect Amy, the supreme court did rule eventually in the bakers’ favor of not having to bake the cake but you missed a rather pertinent fact – the bakers still had to pay the original fine of $135,000, that decision was upheld in an Oregon court of appeals. So really not a full win, the bakers still had to pay fines and legal fees. Your premise does not hold water, but then again the vast majority of your premises don’t hold water either.

Maybe the solution to the situation is that the conservative and republican parties should start suing Facebook, Google, etc.. Even if it turns out to be a no win through the lawsuits it is a win of sorts because Facebook etc will still have to pay legal fees and perhaps fines and it would make for interesting reading prior to all the upcoming elections.

So we are all in agreement that private social platforms have EVERY RIGHT to ban whomever it wishes just like Mr. Baker can refuse service to gays?

Sorry Cardillo, tit-for-tat, pal.

Just think, some poor bastard is probably married to that thing. Let us ‘prey’.

In other news, Trump & Son are probably 12 months away from an indictment hearing.

Sorry Harley but you don’t own Canada. Trudeau won the election. That’s how democracies work. If you don’t like Canada move to a country with a wall.

He’s not likely to win the next one. Doug Ford beat Katleen Wynn so bad the liberals want to charge him with a hate crime. And if Trudeau runs on the “I am a feminist” platform he will get drummed out of politics altogether just like Michael Ignatieff and that stupid insipid “pink book”.
commented 2018-08-07 09:00:58 -0400
Amy Lynn: Trudeau’s days as PM are numbered. After next year if you don’t like Canada why don’t you move to a country without borders where migrants can rape you daily with impunity.

“Trudeau won the election.”

Not honestly or totally on his own merit, he now owes a lot of favors LOL
“Foreign money funnelled towards Canadian political advocacy groups affected the outcome of the 2015 federal election, according to a document filed last week with Elections Canada …. The number of third parties registered during the 2015 general election more than doubled, to 114 compared with 55, in the 2011 election. … "

He did repay one recently though:
“According to the Canada Summer Jobs website, LeadNow Society will receive two grants for its operations in British Columbia. … LeadNow was named in an official complaint to Elections Canada that alleged foreign funding and foreign interference in the 2015 federal election campaign.”

Just like Canadians don,t get to decide who enters our Country? Treasonous trudeau has decided anyone can enter un-vetted to kill our people.

Cardillo, no private enterprise has to provide a platform to anyone. It is their freedom to decide whom to let into “their house.” If a baker doesn’t have to bake cakes for a gay couple then nobody has to provide service to a lunatic harassing the parents of dead children.
