Keeping a promise made almost daily on the campaign trail, the Ford government will begin consultations in the fall on a revised sex-ed curriculum.
This was welcome news for many parents, given that there was virtually no consultation with them when the Wynne Liberals pushed full-speed ahead with what some have deemed a radical sex-ed curriculum.
Many complained that some of the materials in the new curriculum aren’t age-appropriate, and are concerned with the way gender is presented to children as young as eight, as a changeable social construct.
But even before any specific changes have been released by the Ford PCs, those in favour of the current curriculum are in a tizzy, including the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario.
If this group in connection with gender-bending rings a bell, it might be due to the union being a subject on a Tucker Carlson show last December when it was revealed that the ETFO had expanded LGBT to “LGGBDTTTIQQAAPP.”
At their recent Queen’s Park protest, ETFO President Sam Hammond said the union will “vigorously defend” any teacher who sticks to the current curriculum.
In other words, he’s advocating that teachers break the law to defend it, and they aren’t the only ones going to extremes to defend the radical curriculum.
At the end of the day, shouldn’t these people at least wait to see what’s being proposed before protesting?
