Did this obscure 1973 DC Comic predict the election of Justin Trudeau?

David MenziesMission Specialist

While going through my comic book collection the other day (yes, I'm a comic book geek) I stumbled upon a 1973 series published by DC Comics that struck me as prescient in the current Canadian political context.

The name of the comic book is "Prez" and the main character is a photogenic young man with a great head of hair who is painfully politically correct. Despite lack of experience, he somehow manages to become President of the United States.

Sound familiar?

The series only lasted four issues due to poor sales so I'm hoping that life will imitate art in this regard too.

Did “Prez” save Canada from a low life loser being re-elected? No! The Canadian taxpaying voter did. Read the next great issues for the next 4 years.

David: Some questions about “Prez” -

1) Did “Prez” have a morbid narcissism complex and prioritize “selfies” over state security?
2) Was “Prez” born a Laurentean elitist and have a “silver spoon” isolation from the people?
3) Did “Prez” have a Marxist Daddy and want to sell his nation out to unelected globalists?
4) Do you think the new “Prez” will be cancelled after 4 issues?

“Michael Mann let me know how many of those top 100 are tax funded to the nines. "

List is here:;0/CA

Some media sources (CBC, which is #18; Globe and Mail, TO Star, CTV, La Presse, National Post, Global); depending on how you want to qualify “tax funded” as only one of those is actually publicly owned, and a couple government websites (Canada Post, Environment Canada, and for some reason the Government of Quebec homepage). The rest are private or foreign.

Every major/old school media source in Canada gets government money, so they would be ranked all over the place – higher or lower than The Rebel.

Don Cloud what would liberal Canada do without us paying their way? YOu need us we do not need you.
And i would love to hop in the ring with SHINY PONY, would be quite fun kicking him in the head, hearing it rattle as all that is in there is a tab form a pop can, then grabbing him in clinch and kneeing his liver a few times before i knock him out.

CALAMITY MARCY P … good one. Harper was non-existent in the election. The Depends riddled western oldtimers were the only fools to believe Harper could. Still fools today. Better luck in 2020 … if y’all don’t separate from the Liberal run Canada.

Stephen Harper’s diary.
Dear diary. I got nothing … I’d fight Justin but my tail is so far up my butt it’s stuck there until 2020…

Gotta love this guy!
The only thing that keeps MacLean’s going is the utter naivite of the average Canadian. My mother called Canada “Sleepy Hollow” for a good reason.

Well, I don’t know about this comic book, but you have to admit that old Isaiah got the last part of this prophecy right:

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

Why would it piss liberals off that The Rebel is able to outrank two media sources that are pretty much dead? Get back to me when The Rebel is in the top 100.

“Steve McQueen commented 2 hours ago (466) just ran over (639) – hopefully macleans goes bankrupt and more media party lumps get fired. "

It actually overran Macleans in July. It peaked in October and has actually declined somewhat as of late post-election. In essence, without a mission – stable government Federally and in most provinces, Manitoba’s of some interest but that’s about all – people are losing interest. It becomes like a Truther or anti-vaxx website. Plays well to its core audience, but nobody else cares.

Dear Diary;
Last week Gerald told me that now is about the right time to play the Standard Operating Procedure and announce to my subjects that we’ve had a look at the books and that the situation is even worse than we thought. I’ll then follow that with the sombre announcement that we’ll have to pull back on some promises but that we’ll still need those extra taxes.
I got Bill Morneau, my bean counter, to let me know where we’re at and you’ll never guess; right now we’re about $1.6 billion in the black for the first half of this year. Yikes. Stevie projected a $1.4 billion surplus for the whole year and although the Parliamentary Budget guy projected a lower surplus of $1.2 billion that still doesn’t help me much.
Good old Bill came through for me. He just picked a number, right out of thin air, then went on television and somehow managed to convince all my zombies that we’ve inherited a deficit of $3 billion which we’re in the hole right now for (even although that was really just a projection from now through March next year, but he kinda whispered that part). Tee-he, now I can squander over $4 billion on stuff, like maybe import even more voters from Syria. If I can keep all this financial wizardry up Sophie might just let me try balancing our chequing account. After all, I’m a true leader now.
P.S. I watched some panel trying to wrap their heads around all that this morning on CBC, but all Andrew Nichols could say, over and over again, was that he is “very confused”.

Here’s what is even more interesting. Montreal Gazette has an alexa rank of 432 – next target in site.

Any lefties out there with some excuses? Does this piss off you lefties? Well that’s wonderful.
Feel the pain lefties. There’s more coming.

Yes, when Justin gets his second term and conservatives plan a mass suicide.

If any of the refugees he is rushing to Canada without proper vetting kills anyone here, can Trudeau be charged with Treason for intentionally subjecting Canada to a high level threat?

Just 47 Months and 8 days left before the next Federal election!

After reading all the comments, I can see that David Menzies irritated the lefties by the comparison. Keep up the good work, David! They more we annoy the leftie fools that post on this site, the more I know you are on the right track!

In the real comic Justin kicked Steve’s ass … " Get the Ef back to Calgary loser!" was the exact line in the comic book … LMAO!

Cute, but this comparison has been made to pretty much anybody that isn’t a semi-senile old white millionaire with the standard stable of well rehearsed right wing talking points.

OMG! the baby trudeau really did beat up a native canadian.”
No, actually he didn’t.
Justin was ‘declared’ winner. There was no demonstration of the manly art of pugilism going on anywhere in that ring. So Justine didn’t in fact “beat up” an Indian.
The Indian does a pretty good job of beating himself up anyway…
Justin is a comic book character, a Loon, a Toon, a poltroon and a funny lookin’ baboon…this man-child would struggle fighting his way out of a wet paper bag on his own.
And this is who is ‘leading’ Canada straight into the toilet…
