Does hope abound for Leaf fans in Saints’ “no call” lawsuit?

If you ever wondered just how litigious things can get in the U.S., I think we now have a definitive answer thanks to a lawsuit recently filed by a pair of New Orleans Saints season ticket-holders who claim a blown pass-interference call cost the Saints a berth in the Super Bowl.

In the bitter aftermath, I guess the idea is to have a re-do of the NFC Championship game even though the league maintains that overruling the referee on the field and directing that a penalty be called is not within the NFL Commissioner’s discretion.

Based on comments from the league’s attorneys in a New York Post story, I think it’s safe to say this lawsuit isn’t going anywhere, but still, should a legalistic hail Mary occur and give those Saints fans a win in court, I have a couple of ideas for some do-overs.

Granted, we may have to check the statute of limitations first, but maybe these judges can be persuaded to do the right thing unlike the refs who made the controversial calls!

Leafs have “millions of fans”?

I feel your pain Menzoid, but you just have to let the Leafs go. Try to hold on to that last shining moment in 1967 when professional hockey was still played in Toronto.

I listened to your whole show Menzoid, trying to find some nugget of meaning or interest, but I gotta say, personally I find organized, ‘professional’ sports hold absolutely no interest for me – I guess I’m a player, not a spectator…the last time I watched a sports series with any interest was the 1972 Canada-Soviet series…and that was mostly because I got lots of chances to hit on Christine Kinicki in the high school school cafeteria, set up for us to watch the series…
Aside from the fact that you have a bunch of guys in funny looking clothes running around playing with their balls, or pucks, or whatever they’re playing with…and spending way too much time together in shower rooms…and earning way too much money for playing a kids game…a game, don’t try and tell me it’s about sportsmanship and team effort! It hasn’t been that way for a long time.
Televised pro-sports is merely a very successful vehicle for sales of junk, BS and propaganda! And the lefty-mooks are even trashing that too.LOL!
