Does Brown’s Barrie/Brampton blunder reveal an obsession with power?

David MenziesMission Specialist

Remember Patrick Brown, the alleged-conservative who inexplicably hoodwinked enough PC Party members to vote him in as leader only to (thankfully) be ousted in a palace coup?

Well, that big carbon tax and anti-Islamophobia motion proponent is back and this time he’s running for Mayor of Brampton, we think.

In a recent speech, the bumbling Brown said:

“I think this is a great place where I can contribute and help. It’s a city that’s hurting … and I think it’s a great place to serve. And I want to be a great mayor of Barrie.”

Oops!

Brown’s auto-correct eventually kicked-in, noting that he actually wants to be a great mayor of the conveniently-located Brampton, and not his hometown of Barrie.

Is Brown so obsessed with power that he’ll try to get elected as anything, anywhere and to hell with the details?

Brown was first elected for public office in 2000 at the age of 22 (Barrie City Council). Being in politics is the only job he’s ever had for the most part and he’s a good example of why we should have term limits. Despite his biggest claim to fame (Hockey Night in Barrie), he was never exactly an all-star for any team he played for.

Brown has returned to remind Ontario of the bullet they dodged.

Some people learn from their mistakes… Others, “obviously”, don’t…

“Does Brown’s Barrie/Brampton blunder reveal an obsession with power? "

Sure. But only to about the same degree that the addiction afflicts most politicians.
