It's day 3 of testimony at the West Edmonton Mall sexual assault trial of 39 year old father of six, Syrian refugee Soleiman Hajj Soleiman.
Yesterday a second child witness, now 14 who was 13 at the time of the alleged assault against her, testified. She was at the waterpark with one other friend and described what happened to her that day.
Today's child witness was 14 at the time now 15 and she was at the water park that day attending the same team birthday party as Monday’s witness.
She described the accused as following her friend and grabbing her friend from behind.
In a separate incident she describes the accused as going under the waves and running his hands the length of her body from just below her breasts to her hips before lifting her up in the water.
All three girls have described the accused as wearing bright blue shorts with rainbow goggles.
The accused has dramatically changed his appearance since his arrest, shaving off his full beard, but despite this, all three girls have come from behind the screen to identify the accused as the person who assaulted them in the water park.
The second child was visibly shaken and needed a break after identifying the accused.
I’ve watched these three brave girls describe the accused the way one would describe a shark going under the water waiting until its victim is off balance to pounce.
And they are really just little girls. But the feminists of the me-too movement are not here for these girls. These girls are on their own.
