Edmonton Rally: Media elite focus on “lock her up” chant but ignore NDP’s harmful policies

Christopher WilsonRebel Commentator Christopher Wilson

On Saturday, I was privileged to join my Alberta colleagues along with Ezra and thousands of Albertans in Edmonton for the Rally for Alberta to stop Rachel Motley’s job killing carbon tax.

While it was good be at a rally where I didn’t have to look over my shoulder or be the recipient of vulgar profanities, it was also difficult to hear how tough things are in Alberta right now.

As tough as that was, it was great to hear how appreciative they are for the Rebel and even my work covering and exposing the nature of the highly organized professional protests in Vancouver.

It’s given me a sense of what exactly is on the line right now if these pipeline projects don’t get going and allow for some kind of economic uptick in Alberta.

Watch as I give you a glimpse of the crowds and speakers and also share the thoughts from a few attendees about whether the recent approval of the TransMountain expansion, gives them any hope that things might turn around.

I have passed on invitations to meet and greet Conservative Party leadership candidates or attend the debates. I may withold any further contributions to the party.

If there is nobody willing to defy the CBC….then we just might as well declare the CBC the dictatorship of this country.

Perhaps they would be more familiar with " Hey Ho, Hey Ho Fascist Notley has to go". Hoist them on their own slogans.
It is disappointing that the politicians quiver before political correctness. They need to be reminded that a leader is to standup and lead not piss themselves when someone says Boo! The next Premier needs to be able to say No to the unions, feds and the SJW. Capons need not apply.

Brain Jean and Rona Ambrose are a disgrace. Rona does something good like holding Truturd accountable then she goes and calls the people chanting “lock her up” Idiots!!!!! NOT good Rona NOT good. And as for Brian Jean he’s a major pussy. Derek needs to lead the party. Actually imo he should run for the conservative leadership.

Even though we’re all pissed at the Wild Rose party we should still maintain a vote for them as opposed to another punishment vote that will get the NDP elected for another four years… Anything and I repeat anything is better than them.
I would suffer 30 root canals in a row before I would empower the NDP if there was another political choice.

If they freak out over citizens chanting “lock her up”, maybe they’ll run for the nearest airport when they smell the boiling tar.

Lock her up in reference to the illegal Alberta provincial sales tax disguised as a carbon tax not to mention the millions of dollars spent on advertising to promote and justify her ridiculous ideologies

The “Lock her up” chant was in reply to Drunkard Liz May saying she would go to illegal means to keep Albertans down.

“Lock Her Up”, why not, she kicked out 100,000 jobs or so and caused some to end their lives. The ctv and global news are calling the rally, “hate demonstrators”. Unbelievable!, I’m convinced now that the lame stream media actually do not realize, that they, are the Fake News. Seriously, they look like they are in some kind of a hypnotic trance or delusional state when they are reporting. Even shows like the View or the Social are calling the Wiki leaks info, all fake. Duh…Tru…Duh

Anybody who has cell phone or other footage of crowds trash chanting Steven Harper or that infamous “FROM THE JORDAN TO THE SEA PALESTINE WILL BE JEW FREE DEATH TO THE JEWS ALL JEWS MUST DIE ALLAHU ACHIBAR” chanted in Arabic that got a pass from the CBC and CTV…..please submit them to theREBEL so that a response compilation can be made.

Leviticus 2013… I too also financially supported Wild Rose Party, but now with Brian Jean proving to be a politically correct lieberal with the two major screw ups (Derek Filderbrandt and reffering to some of his supporters as “Trump” deplorables). As long as he is leader Wild Rose will not get my vote or donations any more.

You don’t get a better behaved crowd of really frustrated people than that, and they were vilified. There were almost 3000 people at the rally and thousands more who couldn’t make it. That is a lot of disenchanted Canadians. I would pay attention if I wanted to get elected for office.

I agree Liza..
For a long time I was a Brian Jean supporter with my time as well as financial resources… I feel like I have been let down in such a way that I don’t think Mr. Jean is capable of winning back my loyalty… Not that I’m anybody but I supported him and I put my name behind him and now I feel like a moron.
I will still vote wild Rose as anything is better than NDP right now and I don’t think the conservatives have a platform to stand on with Kenny because he’s just as guilty and greedy and filthy and corrupt as the rest.
I am sickened by what they said because there was no threats there was no violence , it was angry people voicing their anger peacefully.

“Absolutely amazing to me how stupid these politicians are. The obvious is staring them in the face and they run away. The harvest is ripe. For the right politician it could be a slam dunk.”

And I say;
When will these political fools ever see the trees for the bushes…?? If they think the media would be more powerful in the long run over the people who would support and vote for you one only needs to look next-door to the province of Saskatchewan to realize what a strong premier can do for their province…!! Brad Wall is fighting the carbon tax on all levels both provincial and federal and has managed to keep his coal fire generators from being pushed to obsolescence by an overreaching federal government.
I think we are going to see very shortly a spike and a sustained level of real estate price increases in that province as people from here and other places migrate to the last place in Canada that’s governed fairly and supported by commonsense and it still freedom loving.

Indeed. Just seems one has to but scratch the surface of any politician and you see the same yellow colour. The lefty smack down is coming but it’s going to take an outsider like Trump to make it happen. Absolutely amazing to me how stupid these politicians are. The obvious is staring them in the face and they run away. The harvest is ripe. For the right politician it could be a slam dunk.

Cheese and crackers! I just watched some global footage of Jean saying he wished people with signs and comments that were exhibited at the rally would just stay home and keep their opinions to themselves. You blew it Jean. Done. You can be an apologist to your liberal masters on your own buddy. So both Kenny and Jean have insulted us, so now what or should I say who?
commented 2016-12-06 01:56:15 -0500
Good question Ron and one that begs an answer. I do wonder about Brian Jean sometimes. I want to support him but he keeps doing stuff like this.
commented 2016-12-06 00:53:26 -0500
So LIZA ROSIE, one wonders on what basis was Brian Jean deploring the presence of homophobia in the crowd when he met the press on Monday morning at the legislature? That one sign? Did he even see that one sign or is he simply being a good boy and complying with the media narrative?
commented 2016-12-05 21:31:49 -0500
The ’don’t let gay activists in school’ sign should have been stuck up for. Because we don’t want gay activists in schools. Leave the damn kids alone. That is not a homophobic slur. It is a comment by concerned parents who are tired of having this new age sex ed pushed on their children. It’s not homophobic, and politicians are just too cowardly to address that issue. Are they going to stand up for us or not?

Voss said, “So, the rally was revealing in many respects. It’s hard to find any conservative leaders with a back bone in these times. Sad.”

The only one that had a semblance of a spine was voted out of office a year ago.

If we had chanted something which called for her physical harm I could understand some blow back, but ‘lock her up’?

We should be demanding to know why politicians like Wynne , Notley, and yes our dear PM can get away with legally very questionable moves which are proving harmful to a large portion of the country. Whether it be a questionable funding sources, carbon tax, pipelines, unfair and lax immigration laws, sex ed, or unasked for electoral reform which has a forgone conclusion even before the question is asked of Canadians. We’re sick of our politicians pretending consensus and basically writing the U.S. equivalent of executive orders. Is this legal under our laws and constitutional rights? More than one politician in this country could do with a little ‘time out’. In the wise words of Lloyd Nolan, " break her broom"!!

The left-wing media went overboard trying to discredit the Rebel and this rally arranged by the Rebel and latched onto the chant, “Lock her up”. Felt good standing in the cold expressing that sentiment given all the destruction that Notley has caused to Alberta’s economy and peoples’ lives with her left-wing ideology, which, frankly, I consider ‘criminal’. Here are some of the media headlines:
Dawson: ‘Lock her up’ chant is fundamentally undemocratic – and threatening
- Ottawa Citizen
Albertans chant ‘Lock her up’ about Rachel Notley at rally against carbon tax
Conservative leadership hopeful Chris Alexander said he felt ‘uncomfortable’ during chant
- CBC
‘Lock her up for what?’ Professor weighs in on Alberta rally
‘The only weapon they have to employ is their sullenness and their anger’

Wildrose should disavow “Trump-style hate politics” in Alberta: NDP
- Calgary Herald
Wildrose leader denounces ‘lock her up’ chanters at weekend rally
Brian Jean was a speaker at an anti-carbon tax rally at the Alberta legislature Saturday
- CBC

The Ottawa Citizen report chastising Chris Alexander, a contender for the federal Conservative party leadership, for not stopping the chant, got it right saying that he “lacks anything resembling a spine”. Giving in to the media bullying, he later said that he was “uncomfortable” with the chant even though the video shows him smiling, bobbing along, almost conducting the chant. Strike him off the list as a leader of the federal Conservative Party! These are tough times and the last thing we need is a gutless, spineless leader who will submit to the bullying by the leftwing media and political correctness.

Cute how the left-wing media (CTV) denigrates the Rebel as “right-wing media”. Press Progress referred to “Ezra Levant’s alt-right Rebel media”. The liberal professor consulted by the CBC ‘weighed in’ by referring to the Rebel as the “extreme right”.

Then, sadly, we have Wildrose leader, Brian Jean, bowing to the left-wing media and telling reporters at the Alberta legislature on Monday that he ‘denounced’ people who held homophobic signs and chanted “lock her up” about Premier Notley. I am glad he didn’t call us the “deplorables”. Brian Jean said, “I completely denounce what took place at this rally in relation to inappropriate signage that spread or encouraged homophobia. There is no place for that in modern day politics and there is no place for that in the Wildrose Party, nor do I think that there is a place for inappropriate chants, in this particular case, something that came out of the American election has no place here in Alberta. And I wish that they would just stay home and leave those alone”. With respect to signage spreading or encouraging homophobia was he referring to the one sign that I could see, saying, “Don’t Let Gay Activists in Schools”. Brian is that what you call ‘homophobia’ (a political correctness term) or are you okay with letting gay activists into the schools? Disappointingly, Wildrose responded to this intimidation and bullying by the left-wing media as it has in the past; for example, with respect to the Derek Fildebrandt fiasco.

Then we have Jason Kenney, who is running for the Tory leadership in Alberta and wasn’t at the rally, tweeting, "There are good reasons to oppose a carbon tax. But calling on our democratically-elected Premier to be ‘locked up’ is ridiculous & offensive.”

So, the rally was revealing in many respects. It’s hard to find any conservative leaders with a back bone in these times. Sad.

Nobody needs the permission or approval of the $&^$&$%**%$## CBC to voice a grievance . (I got a couple of language warnings but civil tongue cannot express how outrageously arrogant the CBC has become…..LOCK UP THE CBC!!!)

Even if they do manage to get some of these pipelines going people should not forget how much damage they did while pursuing their own personal agendas… When it comes time to vote take your phone with you in the booth and as you make your vote hold the paper up to your face and take a picture.. And should there be another “majority NDP win” we will have the necessary “receipts” to call back the government in question.

The Marxist Government in Alberta have only one duty to perform, they have to ruin Alberta’s Oil Industry. Their boss, Saudi Arabia is no doubt, paying well for this. The Saudi do not like competition.

Notley is getting the best deal, she gets to drag Alberta down to her own level of Marxism and she gets paid for doing it.

When it comes to Traitor, she is on the same level as Wynne and Trudeau.
