Jericho Elementary School in New York has canceled its mock election after it appeared that Trump would win.
According to the school principal, kids chanted “Trump” and “negative rhetoric about minorities”.
Now, instead of real candidates, students will be voting for their favourite school lunch. How boring. Hopefully Trump is a write-in candidate.
The principal said that canceling the election was done to prevent minorities from feeling uncomfortable.
“Teachers have said they’ve heard some kids in the cafeteria chanting ‘Trump! Trump! Trump!’ or saying they don’t want Muslims here,” Glen Rogers told ABC.
“I mean, kids often repeat what they hear on the TV or the news, but it doesn’t mean it’s OK,” he said. “We have a diverse community here. We want all our students to feel valued.”
So, basically, as long as children aren't supporting Trump, mock elections are okay. The 'education' system is anything but educational.
