Elites "losing their collectivist minds" over Harper's remarks on guns and self-defence

Brian LilleyArchive

Official Ottawa and the rest of the Laurentian Elite are losing their collectivist minds over comments PM Stephen Harper made about guns and self defence.

I break down what they're all saying, and talk about the reality:

Statistics show that guns in the hands of law abiding citizens can actually reduce crime.

Problem is John that the sovereign power being referred to in that part of the Criminal Code of Canada may have been intended to imply property rights but it has not been interpreted that way for some time. You can be convicted of all manner of things committed or omitted on your own property…many of these things are acts of parliament rather than things itemized in the Criminal Code.

Ironically the much maligned Sharia Law is much more of a “man’s home is his castle” system. The word “harem” can be interpreted as “household” or “shame” or “dirty little secret”, the closet in which you hide your skeletons so to speak.

In legal philosophy where somebody’s idea of due or entitlement conflicts with somebody else’s idea of due or entitlement the issue is called a “right”. Where claims of right conflict they are weighed on “balance of inconvenience” whoever suffers the greater loss or inconvenience is awarded favour in the judgement.

And besides all of that lawyers just dearly love their feeding frenzies…so if you are a gun owner you should carry legal insurance such as is provided by…

Winning an argument in court is a very expensive pastime.

More BLAH BLAH BLAH from everyone….
Here is the law:
15. No person shall be convicted of an offence in respect of an act or omission in obedience to the laws for the time being made and enforced by persons in de facto possession of the sovereign power in and over the place where the act or omission occurs.

The government can not convict you. Pretty simple.

You have to ask yourself why at 3 in the morning did the intruder break into your house. I can think of only a few viable options. One being “well your doorbell was out of order” and 2 “I am suffering from Dementia and this is my house and by the way dad you look a little different than I remember”. ( I actually did walk into a wrong house once my friend being next door but it was 5 in the afternoon and we had a good laugh before they shot me to death.

Re: “Trudeau and Mulcair to have our guns taken away from us”

Funny really, how so many people are against honest, law abiding citizens owning guns, but when push comes to shove; people such as Trudeau and Mulcair surround themselves with people (personal security etc) who do carry guns. It must be nice to have personal armed security, keeping you safe, driving you to the office, picking you and or your children up at night. Not all of us have police escorts 24/7.

I’m quite sure Trudeau and others like him would be very happy if it was ever required for those guns; there so against were to be drawn and fired in the name of “Self-defence” oh as long as it’s protecting someone important…not like you and I, but anyone like Mulcair or Trudeau, etc…

Licensed and registered gun owners are check more times by CPIC than any other group, I’m sure there must be a better use of funds and time.

The left elite lost this argument and Harper never even had to respond. Just exactly WHO is fear mongering, perhaps it’s the paranoids who see evil in every Harper word and deed.
Harper may not be perfect but he’s light years ahead of the empty suits the Laurentian oligarchy is selling as leadership – JT and Angry Tom would get lost looking for rural Canada let alone presuming to represent it.

Brian this issue and the reaction of the elites shows us Canada’s real “two solitudes” – It isn’t French and English, or East and west, or even left and right – it’s rural and suburban Canada versus metro Canada.

This is just "I hate Harper, no matter what’ reaction. Did you beat your wife? No ! Headline: Harper denies beating wife! The listeners would just say “that’s Harper for you”. Their bias is so deep you couldn’t even have a rational balanced discussion with them. When these people have there parties or riots, they really just call them a “Harper Bash”.

I will vote for Harper again. He is my PM, and I will support him.
May God help us if the leftists get control of this wonderful country.

What is going on over Harpers remarks is a full court press by the Progressives lead Trudeau and Mulcair to have our guns taken away from us. The sleeper ISIS cells in Canada must be so grateful for the efforts of the Progressives.

Just Harper winning the rural vote. Nothing going on here. Move along.

Funny seeing the MSM go stupid on this one. No comments from Justine or the other guy. Even funnier.

Finally a Canaidan leader that says the truth and knows in his heart that the only person to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun but because of the liberal lefty pablum pukers only bad people in Canada can have guns. Thank you PM Harper for having the guts and vision not to bow to crazy left agenda and say what needs to be said. The truth.

Ask your RCMP detachment for the quick reference document : CAFC 1238 EF
It has the safe storage, transportation and display of fire arms outlined in this RCMP publication.
If they do not have it on hand ask them to order it for you or provide you with information on how to acquire it.

And just how, if someone breaks into your home in the middle of the night, are you supposed to know why he’s there and what lines they won’t cross? Seeing as how they’ve already crossed one for sure by breaking in.

“Mr. Intruder Sir. Are you’re alone and unarmed, and just looking for some loose change and the flat screen? Cause if you’re not a rape gang/serial killer loner then me and the fam are just going to go back to bed so please close the door on the way out will ya? Thanks”

The problem is the law in the way Jurist interpret it . If the one who break in your house unharmed you have no need to shoot but if he is in both cases you end up with a law suit . This is how we became dependant of government for our own and family safety . In the old western the cavalry is usually late but in time to protect the heroe of the movie . In reality how many time peacefull people family died because they could not defend themselves ? History showed us that all tyranical countries banned guns . The peacefull people end up opressed by their own gov and police . Sad but we do not learn and by any means it happen here who you gonna call ? ghost buster ! Politicians- if they really believe that cannot happen here and they promote gunophobia why they hire arms body guards ?

Bingo, Ashley.
However, as we all know, if the corpse is anything other than an escapee with a long record for violence, the Crown and the police usually play a game called switch-the-victim. All a body can hope for in that case is a Judge with the common sense of Colin MacKinnon.

The issue we have in Canada is that law enforcement is a provincial jurisdiction. Police are directed, except where RCMP are in charge, by provincial bureaucrats.

If you successfully self defend in your own home, it is probably wise to shoot, shovel and STFU about it. Figuratively speaking, of course. Because if you injure the bad guy and let him go he likely won’t be back so you don’t need police. And if you do call police, they will injure you for injuring the bad guy. It’s called vigilante justice and its practiced by the bad guys who direct the police. You know, the provincial bureaucrats.

Lots of money in crime. Lots of incentives for bureaucrats.

We have the law on our side. The problem is police are not the law. They are supposed to enforce the law, as directed by government. And while I understand why police routinely violate legislation by inappropriately interpreting and enforcing the law – because they like the sunshine their union bosses secure for them – we still need to hold them and their directors responsible in a lessons-of-Nuremberg sort of way.

In the meantime, I won’t be telling any kids to ask the nice police for help, like parents once did in our fair land. I’ll be teaching them the three-S rule of self defence.

Right on Brian, except there is no common sense when it comes to anti-gun people. They just spout of at the mouth. This is also about Prime Minister Harper haters, they hate him so much that they find all kinds of reasons to defame him.
I personally will do what I can to defend myself and my family and face the consequences later, at least I will be around to face them.
Too many Liberal bleeding hearts in Canada.

Someone comes into my house at three AM. I will assume they are there to cause my family or my self harm. They will be dispatched immediately. I am not going to wait until they do harm before I react. If the lawyer calls that murder, I’d like to see him prove it. Thanks to Harper the law is on my side. The lawyers just need to catch up with the times.
