Elizabeth May and Tabatha Southey: Groupies for Omar Khadr?

Marissa SemkiwArchive

A terrorist has been granted bail, and the left-wing intelligentsia rejoices. It’s shocking, really. Or at least it should be.

But sadly, Omar Khadr being the toast of Canadian newsrooms and faculty lounges isn’t shocking in the least.

As the children of Khadr’s victim, Christopher Speer, grow up without their heroic father, his murderer may get to join society.  That prospect should outrage all decent people.

Khadr has shown no contrition and there’s no reason to think that he and his radical ideology aren’t a danger to our way of life.

Yet, the same folks who would be mortified by living next door to Paul Bernardo or OJ Simpson are now celebrating the prospects of freedom for Khadr.

Elizabeth May, leader of the Green Party of Canada, and a Member of Parliament even offered to host Khadr “if he needed a place to stay.”

And who could forget when the Ottawa Citizen published an 800-word propaganda column by Khadr, conveniently omitting the fact that he is a convicted, confessed Islamic terrorist.  Do you think they’d ever offer editorial space to Bernardo?

What is different about this murderer from Bernardo or Simpson?  Could it be that Khadr’s crime was driven by ideology? It is the same reason why the only public monument that has serious opposition in Canada is that for the “Victims of Communism”.

Elites are sympathetic to Khadr’s anti-Western and anti-American ideology. Their blind support for a terrorist because of a bizarre illogical attachment is beyond misplaced. It’s anti-Canadian. That a Member of Parliament offers to take in a murderer is foul.

But it’s not just Elizabeth May that’s playing this game with Canada’s honour.

Tabatha Southey, a columnist for the Toronto Globe and Mail, took to Twitter to say:

“Good luck in all things…” Such disgusting sentiments go beyond Khadr’s case or ideology.

This is an attack on decency.

A wife became a widow, and her children became fatherless. They will bear that burden for the rest of their lives.  There is never any cause for celebration when a murderer may be set free.

The elites in Canada can have their day and celebrate this ridiculous ruling.

The rest of us severely normal Canadians will continue to respectfully stand in solidarity with the family of Christopher Speer.

I don’t know what the prosecutor have done in Canada or how have they handled this case. If I was prosecuting him First of I would have gone after his birth certificate. If Kadar was born in Canada than it is ok but if He was born outside surely that certificate is not genuine. Seconldy, He has been taking advantage of a loophole in the western out of date laws. He was 15 years and 8 months i.e 4 months shy of being 16. But Canadian law do provide for such cases where a juvenile offender could be tried as adult when turns 16. So why isn’t that taken into consideration is beyond me. Thirdly, He was caught against Canada Yes I said that against Canada. Canada was part of UN mandated NATO’s mission in Afghanistan so if we are giving him advantage purely on technical grounds than on those very technical grounds He should be tried for treason

Unfortunately, I have to subscribe to the e-version of the Globe and Mail to read its business and investment sections (all finely written and edited). But occasionally I will click onto the horrid news and comments sections of this left-wing newspaper. And, indeed, the newspaper has long-had a “friendly” view of Islamic terrorism. A few years ago, they added Tabatha Southey to their long roster of left-wing columnists, and a dreary, lifeless writer is she.
The Globe has become so strident and uniformly left-wing in its shallow writing, in no shape or form does it promote any pro-human rights or pro-democracy outlook. These points of view have been purged from its commentary.
A case in point: a few days after the Charlie Hebdo murders — surely a war crime — the French people staged a “We are Charlie Hebdo” demonstration, a march that attracted some 400,000 participants. Yet one day later, the Globe and Mail published an obnoxious editorial stating “We are Not Charlie Hebdo”. The editorial lambasted the satirical magazine for inflaming the hatred of Muslims (the anti-democracy newspaper, of course, did not criticize the magazine for attacking Catholics or Jews). The mass demonstration in France copied copied the Danes, in 1940, when all Danish people put on the Star of David, given Nazi directive that forced all Danish Jews to wear the Star in the streets. Yet if one could magically transport the Globe and Mail editorial board back to 1940, this noxious newspaper would publish and editorial stating “We are not Jews”, attacking Danish Jews for their predicament under the Nazis.
These days, we live in a time of war against Islamo-Nazism. And newspaper like the Globe and Mail apologize for Western values and human rights, and actively defend the Islamic Nazis of today. This is the thinking behind Tabatha Southey’s columns. — David Murrell, Fredericton,NB

The Left are truly disgusting pigs. They will lay down with the Devil to serve their agenda. Monsters all.

This crap really doesn’t surprise me. In everything the twerp Khadr say’s, he doesn’t once renounce terrorism. His language is vague and doesn’t give an opinion, let alone an answer. How can people be so bloody stupid?

This should be an election issue! Do Canadians know that the left support this convicted terrorist? Do they know that they advocate for him, and vilify anyone who points out the facts in his case? The mainstream media has kept those facts from Canadians. Let’s hope The Rebel exposes them, and keeps Khadr front and center in the minds of everyone, and makes that link between him and the Liberal/NDP clear as day!

Will Khadr stay with May in Sidney or her place in Ottawa..why hasn’t this insane statement been picked up by the mainstream media ? It was on CPAC !

What is wrong with these people? Are they all brainless or what? I am totally disgusted. How can people like May & Southey cheer for a terrorist who commits murder & feel nothing for the victim’s wife & young children. Could it be that May has inhaled instead of exhaling too much CO2 from her so called climate change narrative???
commented 2015-04-27 16:47:55 -0400
May and Southey are ignorant.

So last week she is demanding the elimination of Christian prayer from Parliament.
Now this week she is cheering for an islamic terrorist.
Not hard to guess which side this looney is on.

There is little chance of Elizabeth May hosting Khadr – porcine animals are haram in Islam!!!

Normally, the pretentious, self-interested moral preening of the pseudo-intelligentsia does not interest nor impress me in the least – it’s just another display of the pragmatic and moral detachment of ideological elitists from the inconvenient worldly realities which conflict with their utopian narrative. Their public displays of ideological moral outrage are purely symbolic – and I leave hollow symbolism to the symbol-minded.
What interests me about Khadr groupies is the glaring hypocrisy of an ostentatious pious ideology (self-flagellating progressivism) which will embrace true murderous extremism (Jihadi Islamists) while accusing their ideological opponents of such (a form of Freudian projection). The fact they condone ideological extremism is a telling insight into their own philosophical makeup. Their canonizing of Jihadi Khadr makes it obvious they feel violent extremism is justifiable on an ideological level. This fully explains the acceptance of murderous extremists like Bill Ayres by progressive intelligentsia/academia. It tells us that these pretentious “violence haters” have no real problem with violence for a political or ideological cause – this they have in common with Bolshevik, Islamist or fascist revolutionaries – but they really don’t want to get their hands dirty in the anti-western culture war they wage and rather than putting their “ass in the grass” like Ayers and Khadr did, they prefer to snipe at their ideological enemies from the safe parapets of academia or mainstream media – using symbols – and Omar Khadr is a strong symbol of the anti-western ideology they embrace themselves. The insulated elites of western progressia have become so ideologically inbred they have allowed their self-loathing anti-western belief systems to openly embrace the avowed enemies of their own culture and nation.
In my thinking this does not make them morally or intellectually superior, just intellectually duplicitous and dangerously treacherous to the best interests and security of the nations they occupy.

What these two are saying, to paraphrase, is that they value the life of a man they believe was wrongly accused and convicted of the crime of murder more than they value the life of the man he killed. They seem to conveniently forget that he did, indeed, actually kill someone. I haven’t heard many claims that the poor Khadr boy didn’t actually throw the grenade, just that he shouldn’t have been there, that he shouldn’t be made to pay for killing someone, that he’s just a baby, that he’s a Canadian and should be just let go because, well, because Harper. I always go for the personal touch where possible, and recommend these two be forced to get face to face with the victim’s families, and if they can convince the poor boy’s victims that he should be set free, then set him free! But, short of that, he’s a murderous unrepentant scumbag who killed for ideology, and I don’t understand why he hasn’t been charged with treason. Eagerly awaiting the usual dim response from a very predictable islamapologist from Fort Mac.

So Loony Liz May wants to let Khadr live with her. I suppose she doesn’t have a problem wearing a burka or being escorted by a male when she leaves the house

Dan, that is brilliant.

I share the opinion of those commenting here regarding the Southey twit; however, I couldn’t be happier to hear Elizabeth May making her utterances in support of this bastard. Perfect ammunition for the Conservatives to defeat her in her riding, in which I live, virtually unrepresented in parliament by this woman. She has the ability to manipulate low information voters in this area, and, unfortunately, many otherwise normal people who think that voting for her will somehow make them more environmentally responsible. Maybe this will make them realize what she really is; an idiot who doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong, only trying to say what the public wants to hear. In this case, she couldn’t be more wrong.

Dan, that is a good quote to post and one I agree with completely, but of course it is far more than just those two. The list of psychopathic liberals with transference neurosis is way too large to post here, even publish in a book. The main ones though are Justie and Tommie. We cannot let either of those two psychopaths lead this country.

“…”Modern liberalism’s irrationality can only be understood as the product of psychopathology. So extravagant are the patterns of thinking, emoting, behaving and relating that characterize the liberal mind that it’s relentless protests and demands become understandable only as disorders of the psyche." ‘THE LIBERAL MIND’ (by Lyle Rossitter MD) reveals the madness of the modern liberal for what it is: a massive transference neurosis acted out in the world’s political arenas, with devastating effects on the institutions of liberty…."

And May and Southey make a couple of perfect examples of that disorder…

Kenneth Banner, the Conservative Party of Canada is a great defender of human rights and of our Constitution. Which isn’t to say the Constitution Act of Canada can’t be amended from time to time.

Tabitha Southy, and the rest of the moral misfits need to apologize to Speers widow. How must Mrs. Speers feel when she reads," All is slightly better in the world. Good luck in all things, Mr Khadr."

Omar Khadr, like some other enemies of society, has a fan club that meet whenever his name appears. Besides Manson the followers of any one that has a high profile career of murder, even by proxy, are just an arm of rebellion that like to diddle with society and raise blood pressure.
We now know we live in a world of rights and constitutions created to be a boon to them that are “different” from the rest of us. That is the condition they grow in and find power to overthrow the descent among us.
Do we just live with this or do we fight back for our place in society and defend it from the rabble and the rabble rousers and their enablers?
This goes back many years of creeping socialism pandering leading to today. The “comme si, comme sa” attitude leading to permissiveness is invading our thinking and just leads to apathy. That has to change.
I know here at The Rebel we can gather and discuss many of our issues and at least find solace in a place with like minded people. Try that with MSM and you drown in socialism as they rule the other news rooms.
Socialism has swung way to far left and the right wallows in deep waters far from shore.
That is how I see it and that attitude has to change or we all will pray to Allah for protection.
Human rights and privacy were never for us and neither was the constitution. When have you ever needed any of them? Where have you seen either touted the most? Those that hide something from us.
When you feel ready call the Conservative Party member in your area and let them know what you feel.

Tabitha southey is a lover of terrorists and this socialist pig is not shy about grinding her ex-husband David Foley (ex of Kids in the Hall) for more than his income in child support.

From Wikipedia: "…Foley stated that as a result of having been judicially mandated to pay Southey “literally (…) 400 per cent of (his) income” in child support, he cannot return to Canada without facing imprisonment.3 …"

Yes, southey is just another bitter and twisted pig just trying to get back at the world for her broken past. Globe and gizz is a complete joke – hiring idiots like southey confirms it.

Liz and Tabatha are like women who fall for imprisoned felons. The felon is a victim to be saved or a bad boy to be rehabilitated and a canvass on which they can paint all sort of idealized crap. They get to play out a fairy tale or feel good movie in their heads of fighting for their man, winning his freedom an then riding off into the sunset with him. No BS people, these two lonely hearts are classic examples of this phenomenon.

Omar, however, won’t have much time for them. He’ll hit the Canadian msm talk circuit while simultaneously appearing at jihadist venues across the country. I give him a year or two before he’s busted in some terror plot. At that time his groupies will again jump up and down for his release. The only silver lining is that the more the msm pump this guy the faster much of their viewership will tune them out. It’s like cheering for Osama bin Laden or the 911 suicide freaks. You can photoshop his picture all you want but to most of us, Omar’s no heartthrob.

Useless, bloody, moral vanity. It makes them feel all warm and fuzzy for being such compassionate human beings. Just a start to the sickening stream of codswallop we’ll have to put up with. While they assuage their misguided guilt, as they shout and preach at the rest of us for being hateful.
Stupid, dangerous, pious, sheep poo.
Disgusting indeed.

Souyhey and May aren’t Khadr groupies; they’re pro-terrorist tyranny groupies, pro-caliphate groupies, pro-their-own-ambition-in-a-caliphate groupies. It’s disgusting!
