In his latest video, Ezra Levant explains that he was happily surprised by a recent speech given by French President Emmanuel Macron in which he urged Africans to take responsibility for the reemergence of slavery in Libya.
Levant says that when Macron was elected, he assumed that he would be just another bleeding-heart liberal like Barack Obama and Justin Trudeau, both of whom preferred to make emotional apology tours rather than force minorities to take responsibility for their own problems. Had either Obama or Trudeau been in Macron's situation, they undoubtedly would have apologized to Africa for the history of colonialism and the role white people played in the slave trade hundreds of years ago.
Macron, however, wasn't having any of this. Instead of apologizing about the French colonialism that ended before many of us were alive, Macron pointed out that the French actually have nothing to do with the modern slave trade. He explained that Africans can only blame the new slave trade on themselves, as it is completely operated by Africans. Levant points out that this strong no-nonsense stance by Macron may indicate that he is more conservative than we initially thought.
