Emmeline Pankhurst Depicted as Black in New Musical

Martina MarkotaRebel Contributor

Emmeline Pankhurst, leader of the suffragette movement in Britain, is a legend in the women’s rights movement. But she’s still not diverse enough.

I saw a story about Beverley Knight – a black British actress and singer who I’m sure is exceptionally talented – who is set to play Emmeline Pankhurst in a new West End musical. That’s the British equivalent of Broadway.

Every time I see this stuff, I think it's is an organised and systematic attempt at rewriting history. Will they ever stop?

I wish they would stop defacing statues though. Not only are they showing our history, but they are beautiful bronze art works. The vandalism needs to stop. The pillage of history, everyone’s history, needs to stop. We are supposed to learn from history.

So what do all you contards like to do besides harp about contrived stuff I can really care less for?

Of course progressive bigots are fine with this, yet if it were reversed they would have a cow. Yes they are racist.

If I were a respectable Black person, I would be insulted if White People were trying to suck-hole to my race by putting in a Black Person for a White Character. As a Black, I think I would riot in the streets. Oh, we do that anyway.

Hope the black twit falls and breaks her neck, the racist twat.

They are rewriting the white race out of history.

I wouldn’t mind if they painted her up in ‘white face’ but pretending a historical figure was black when they were clearly Caucasian is just too stupid and makes the actress look silly and weak. I would say she is insulting her own people as much as trying to give the finger to white people. The left just have to racialise everything. In their pea brains everything can and is weaponized. Looks bad on them.

Another blatant snipe at the achievements of an important person in history.

Liza…. that is a wonderful comparison… Brad Pitt to play Martin Luther King, Muhammad Ali or Gandhi… LOL..
That would pop leftist heads right across the world like little pimples on their faces.!!

Our political leaders are currently changing the present and now they want to change the past with the help of the entertainment buisiness! The only thing that needs to be changed are our current political leaders.

Emmeline Pankhurst, 1858 – 1928. There were no black suffragette leaders during that time in Britain. What an absurd thing, as odd as if Brad Pitt were to play Martin Luther King in a movie. Don’t black women have enough leaders of their own to emulate? If this is an attempt to rewrite history it will fail miserably, and do nothing at all for their self respect. How is this helpful for black women? More left wing brainwashing.

But I think somewhere involved in this is some cultural appropriation that waters down or completely removes the white man’s/woman’s contributions to the world.!!

I just don’t know what to say about this one .!!

How historically inaccurate. I would be embarrassed if I were black. I am sure some are. It makes a mockery of their own race, shows a lack of confidence in their own strength and accomplishments. Its appropriation at its worst, not a nod to another race or culture, but a big F.U. How incredibly pathetic and backward.
