EMP attacks, ethical oil and the new Russian bloc: A conversation with Ambassador James Woolsey

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

I recently talked with former CIA director Ambassador James Woolsey, about various threats to the West, such as rogue nations like Iran and North Korea who might use EMP (electro-magnetic pulses) to knock out our electrical grid.

It sounds like science fiction, but Woolsey explains why such an attack is within the realm of possibility.

We also discuss our dependence on oil, and reports that Russia had infiltrated Western environmentalist groups to hamper the adoption of "ethical oil" over OPEC's "conflict" oil.

Woolsey says price competition is the key to "breaking" OPEC. But how would that happen? I think Woolsey's ideas fall under the category "fantasy fuels of the future," so we have a lively debate about his proposed alternatives.

What about Russia's interventions in Syria, and Obama's reaction?

And what's next with Iran's quest for nuclear weapons -- assuming they don't have them already?

This wide ranging conversation will give you a lot to think about.

“…The Carrington super flare(an EMP)…On September 1–2, 1859, one of the largest recorded geomagnetic storms (as recorded by ground-based magnetometers) occurred. Aurorae were seen around the world, those in the northern hemisphere as far south as the Caribbean; those over the Rocky Mountains in the US were so bright that their glow awoke gold miners, who began preparing breakfast because they thought it was morning. People in the northeastern US could read a newspaper by the aurora’s light. The aurora was visible as far from the poles as Sub-Saharan Africa (Senegal, Mauritania, perhaps Monrovia, Liberia), Monterrey and Tampico in Mexico, Queensland, Cuba and Hawaii…
…Telegraph systems all over Europe and North America failed, in some cases giving telegraph operators electric shocks.Telegraph pylons threw sparks. Some telegraph operators could continue to send and receive messages despite having disconnected their power supplies…”

Or, one little A Bomb, detonated high in the atmosphere will have the same effect of sending us and our electronics based technologies and societies back several hundred years…even with all the fossil fuels and refined ores still laying around. And how well will the expensive solution of ‘hardening the electronics’ work in preventing the electrical grid and every other electronic from being completely fried – if it’s even being done at all?
Not a pleasant picture…

Woosely doesn’t see oil as different depending on where it comes from? And then goes on to say what matters is the price. He must think we’re stupid.

Charles, yes the threat of nuclear shenanigans from maniacs looks inevitable unless the west grows a pair, like yesterday. That knocking out the grid thing is something to think really hard about, and prepare for.

I see everybody is bitching about the oil but the biggest threat out of that whole conversation was about the nuclear capabilities of the Middle East and I see everyone on here is missing the point guys oil will be around for all time that’s a fact even if there such a thing as Star Trek. Oil will still be around because we need the plastics and also we need all the little lubricants that are required. Now onto the nuclear confict (possible nuclear confict in the near future) in the Middle East. The hatred between these countries I could see the entire Middle East in the near not too distant future get leveled. Jimmy and all you orher nastiest lefties out there, you don’t see this as a problem and that makes me very very scared for my kids because this is going to happen and you people are missing the big picture. All you’re doing is bitching about oil. So you lefties out there start using that gift that’s three feet above your ass (mind/brain) so that way my kids and maybe my Grandkids can live a nice strong life. You lefties are being so brainwashed by all the money and lies it just makes me sick.

Jimmy we are doing lots and have done lots, try paying attention to reality. New vehicles produce less than 1% of what they did in the 70’s (well except for VW of course). I see solar power on pretty much every lease i pipeline to , ALberta has windmills where they are viable. We jump through hoops for the environment on the pipeline. Oil companies have developed lots of tech, meanwhile the green groups have made nothing and will never admit their role in the pine beetle disaster in BC, their idiotic lobbying there was a disaster but they will not admit it like sad hypocrites.

Jimmy Da Silva Ezra actually has opposing views, unlike the liberal media who cries and attacks when challenged , or runs away LMAO. Let me know when any CBC bozo will ever face Ezra in an actual debate. they cried when they could not rule the debate to attack Harper of course. Now your computer is more filthy than oil , quit using it hypocrite.

Trivial if you ask me. An EMP or a ban on fossil fuels would set us back 100 years. Big deal. Even atheist Steven Hawkings says we probably shouldn’t be doing this. I’m talking about CERN. A multi trillion dollar 17 mile long hadron particle collider that uses enough energy to power France for a year. It has the power to destroy everything on earth and beyond. Delving into black holes, dark matter, God particle, and portals into other dimensions. You think there’s evil on earth now, you ain’t seen nothing yet. And the civilization is oblivious. Still I believe that God is in control. This may make everyone believers

Here’s the thing about methanol though, you can make it yourself, but the government wants a fuel monopoly on it… Pretty damn tough to drill your own oil, pretty easy to run a still. Some people here are fighting “global warming” and believe Al Gore.

Others like myself would use ethanol to
-stop paying cartels
-to stop enriching Saudi towelheads
-to stop paying ridiculous gasoline taxes.
commented 2015-10-12 23:23:00 -0400
Right after you Jimmy.
commented 2015-10-12 23:19:14 -0400
Guy, what is the tank coated with for methanol?
commented 2015-10-12 23:16:50 -0400

So get on it. Do we stop doing things now, because it’s inconvenient? If it’s ever going to happen – we have to actually start doing something.
commented 2015-10-12 23:14:40 -0400
Yeah, EMP from North Korea, just like their supposed Sony hack, which turned out to very questionable. The fact that these spooks are talking about EMP in public is very worrying. Hopefully you’re prepared for such an event.

Ezra pretty much tells the former top spook he’s full of shit on fuels, that was funny.

This CIA guy is pure disinformation, totally dances around the fact that they fund Al-Qaeda, points fingers at everyone else… Doesn’t really talk about Saudi Arbaia and Turkey helping fund terrorists with NATO.
commented 2015-10-12 22:59:40 -0400
Methanol is NOT usable in most vehicles. Vehicles would need coated tank to stop rusting and the pumps, injectors and the fuel system components would need to be replaced in those vehicles not designed to use it … not to mention reprgramming the ECM/ECU to run properly.
commented 2015-10-12 22:49:52 -0400
Pro-Putin posters showing up in Iraq and Syria now. Russia is taking on the globalist terrorists that the NATO bureaucracy has set up in Syria…

Obama deserves another peace-prize for bombing that Doctors Without Borders hospital in Afghanistan. Then he says publically he’s gonna ban the 2nd amendment as he gives authorization to arm Al-Nusra (Al-Qaeda).

We lost our rights and dignity at the airports, then they allowed the Muslim immigrant population to double in the decade after 9/11. Now in newspapers admitting they run Al-Qaeda to overthrow Assad, and now to fight Russians??? If you repeatedly use mercenaries to attack a country, eventually they will get around to ignoring the mercenaries and targeting you at home.

I wanna make a deal with our Al-Qaeda-killing neighbors to the north. These people have shown to repeatedly surprise American military strategists lately. Easiest way to de-escalate this whole thing is stop funding Al-Qaeda, let Russia clean up. That can be the last lesson, no more foreign entanglements for Canada, no more refugees or immigrants, no more “moderate rebels” or “humanitarian aid”.

Admit fault and cut the taxpayer money off, no more Canadian taxdollars for Islamic terrorists in Syria, enough of this shit already.

Very interesting interview. I’m thinking Woolsey was holding out on a lot more info however.
commented 2015-10-12 21:54:43 -0400

Does that meant that you died a little inside too when Woolsey spoke about oil?
commented 2015-10-12 21:49:27 -0400
Thanks Jimmy—I needed that. The total arrogance of Woolsey really pisses me off. The Ugly American is alive and well.
commented 2015-10-12 21:38:53 -0400
You know Ezra died a little inside and had to hold himself back when Woolsey gave his views about oil.
commented 2015-10-12 19:55:02 -0400
James Woolsey….. You are one arrogant ,ignorant piece of useless humanity.
Your total confident dismissal of ALL others when it comes to the Mid-East—-defies logic.
I have no idea—how Ezra contained himself.
You need a slap across the face from mere mortal men.

Peter Netterville : Well really all they had to do was make them produce the source of every dollar they get. The big money people who fund them don’t want their identities known. That’s why the money is laundered through different groups the way it is. If they had to produce the source of the money, that would for the part, put an end to it.

Robert said, “Of course not, but whether they did or didn’t shouldn’t have anything to do with what the Harper government should have done.”

Yes, that is true. Maybe pressure can be placed on Harper if he gets another majority to get rid of the foreign funded eco-terrorists, or at least take away their tax free status.

Peter Netterville : Do you think the Liberals or NDP would do better is this regards?

Of course not, but whether they did or didn’t shouldn’t have anything to do with what the Harper government should have done.

Fascinating interview! The gentleman was not afraid to challenge Ezra and had the information to back it up. Also reinforced some of Ezra’s points as well. Thank you Ezra for this clip. We would never see such honest back and forth banter were lefties involved! It would simply turn into a screaming match!

“Electrically charged lightning”? I think he misspoke! At least I hope so!

As for North Korea detonating a nuke in LEO, that’s a very plausible scenario and one that must be looked at seriously.

The whole faux outrage of fracking and oil sands, is obviously driven by those that do not wish us well. Actually, they would have us completely dependent on middle east oil, and poor trying to merely heat our homes and bring products to market.

As for the issues surrounding Syria, the recent orders to the RAF, to shoot down any Russian plane that threatens them, is frightening and very concerning. I wish the ambassador could have commented on that.

Overall great interview, and clearly one that showed at times a slight difference of opinion, in a respectful way.

I found interesting he said US would drag us down. They’ve been trying for decades, if we could just keep them on that side of the border, with the conservatives on this side, we would be fine

Over the last four years the Harper government has really fallen down on the job of dealing with, and putting out of business, these foreign and domestically funded north American eco terrorist outfits for hire. A lot of the money is laundered though Oak foundation, which distributes it through their special projects to other foundations, who then hire the eco terrorist outfits who attack our energy industry. Here is one example. A grant to Tides Canada with the original source of the money protected by the Oak Foundation. http://www.oakfnd.org/node/5378 More on the international ring of treachery and subversion. http://business.financialpost.com/fp-comment/vivian-krause-new-u-s-funding-for-the-war-on-canadian-oil

Woolsey said that the price at the pump drives consumer choices whether it be sugar based fuel or gas from fracking or gasoline form refineries here or abroad.
The problem is not with product choice or availability but with government subsidies propping up energy sources such as wind and solar which are not viable on their own without extrodinary measures by tax payers.
The Arabs and their American cronies have us by the short hairs and the AL Gores and David Suzukis of the world get ever richer taking advantage of the gullible .
I thought Woolsey was a wee bit arrogant and condescending. But then, he is an American.
commented 2015-10-12 12:10:32 -0400
I agree, Dan, this interview was interesting. Woolsey seems to have a level head and a clear view of the world as it is.

Where Woolsey and Levant disagreed, I hope Ezra re-evaluates his opinions in those areas.

EMP is not only very real, it is one of the best ways to shut down an entire region with minimum damage to infrastructure.

Unfortunately the world survives and thrives on fear.

If we want to stop empowering terrorism and states that support it we need to stop filling up at the pumps with the gas and diesel produced by their oil.

We can produce our own and stop financing – indirectly and directly this type of event:

As for environmentalists – be aware they are quite willing to be violent – very violent.
