Enbridge cedes court victory in face of Stand.earth’s “Twitter tantrum”

Christopher WilsonRebel Commentator

Yet again a Canadian oil and gas company has capitulated to social justice warriors and thrown in the towel in a fight against political correctness as Enbridge surrendered a hard earned court victory to Stand.Earth.

In 2014, the National Energy Board approved an application made by Enbridge to reverse the flow of oil in its Line 9 pipeline.

Originally built in 1976 to provide Central Canada with crude from Alberta, Line 9 was reversed in 1998 as global oil prices hit their lowest point in seventy years.

Later, when global oil prices surged and Canadian oil was still heavily discounted, Enbridge tried to reverse Line 9's oil-flow so Alberta gold could flow back east once more and by December of 2015, the reversal was complete.

However, having ethical Canadian oil displace foreign imports from OPEC dictatorships never sits well with foreign funded environmental groups so protests and legal actions were pursued against Enbridge.

One of those groups, Stand, has operations in both the US and Canada and relies heavily on money from TIDES and the Bullit Foundation with the US based organizations backed by billionaires like George Soros and Tom Steyer.

Stand launched a challenge of the NEB's approval, claiming the public was excluded from the review process.

As an intervenor in the case, when Stand lost they were ordered to pay Enbridge $14,559 to cover the company's legal costs.

Fast forward three years later and Stand, despite its big money backers, never paid.

Watch as I show you how activists in Stand’s Vancouver office completely freaked out when the court sent sheriffs out to enforce the court order and collect the assets to pay the judgment.

Who cares if Stand throws a Twitter tantrum, or if they fundraise off this? And who cares if conspiracies circulate claiming Donald Trump was somehow behind the Sherrifs’ collection efforts?

Apparently Enbridge cares, as they quickly backed down.

It seems the Enbridge PR team decided that optics, and pretending to be a social justice warrior company, trumps shareholders and employees.

I can hear climate Barbies cackle and see her gummy grin. She means it when she repeatedly parrots Butts lines, ‘the climate IS the new economy’. These people are not kidding. They will destroy everything to make it so.

I have no empathy for these corporations which capitulate to commie tantrum-takers.

Muta Ween – you are an astute observer of transnational communist subterfuge – Soros is a funding king pin to supply operatives who work through a dozen front organizations – the end goal is to destabilize the economy, demoralize and divide the public and to by-pass democratic popular will in pushing globalist agendas. 18 billion will fuel the collapse of Canadian energy self sufficiency and open the doors for foreign control of our resources – it will all be done through environmental front groups and a Soros puppet in the PMO

Gerry Fladager , What makes you think we aren’t already run by communists? Taxing private businesses and farms to bankrupt them is tentamount to seizure of property , right out of the communist manifesto. Trudeau’s Liberal’s plan is just a little bit more subtle than Hugo’s Chavista methods of which I witnessed personally. But the end game is the same.

And immediately after Enbridge capitulated, Stand said they were now even more emboldened to continue fighting the oil and gas sector. Finally get a win and they give it all back. Truly pathetic.

In an interview with BNN, Rafi Tahmazian, senior portfolio manager at Canoe Financial discussed the political tensions around TransCanada’s decision to cancel the controversial Energy East pipeline and, particularly, how ‘government has torn the country apart’:
In the interview, he noted “To not have the support of the government it’s literally survival mode in many cases (for the industry). And more and more companies are staying on the defence. They don’t get to be the offence, where a lot of the the American companies are.” Why are Canadian companies “staying on the defence”, as was the case here with Enbridge, unlike their American counterparts? I would submit that there are no so-called conservative politicians willing to boldly stand up against this sham of anthropogenic global warming! Instead, for example, we have the example of Smil’n Andrew Scheer whipping his MPs to vote in favour of the Liberal motion affirming the Paris Climate Accord, which the Liberals point to as the reason they must do what they do!

It is hard to know what to say to this stuff. It is so pathetic, and disheartening. Not how to push back against a bully.
Win, then when the other side starts to cry you say, ah never mind? It just makes no sense!

Enbridge folded on this like a bad suit.

The fact is that Canada is the new Sweden.

Truly sad.

I Quit!

Genetically only a few years left.

But sucks to be my kids and grandkids, particularly after Baby Doc and More-Now confiscate my middle class family legacy.

A Stephen King nightmare, start adult life with Papa Doc, be lulled by 31 years of intelligent government, then end with Baby Doc.
