Engage Canada: Fact checking their first anti-Harper ad

Brian LilleyArchive

Big Labour has unveiled its new power play: Engage Canda, a national version of Ontario's Working Families Coalition.

The WFC are those progressive attack dogs who've gone after the Conservatives during several provincial elections, more or less running a shadow campaign for the Liberals. Obviously, it worked.

This new organization, Engage Canada, is also well funded by the unions, and staffed with veteran operatives.

I'll tell you who's behind this group, and critique their first commercial, with focuses on "income inequality."

It says right in their commercial that you can fact check their claims and statistics on the Engage Canada website.

Well, I tried...

Every Liberal I know and I mean everyone…is braindead.Justin Trudeau is the leader of this brain dead group. What a collapse Canada would become with him as a leader!

My dog could be a better Prime Minister than Stephen Harper, so there is nowhere to go but up with anyone else. I would happily have Justin be Prime Minister for this reason.

jimmy da silva, if you were not so turned on by Justin would you then notice that he is an idiot?
commented 2015-06-15 22:33:13 -0400
Would you also admit that Justin is not overly bright? No matter how much they Prep him.

And honestly—-would you really want this twit to be the PM of Canada.?

LOL. You better move now – if the election was held today, The NDP would win.

I find hyperbolic, fake outrage and fear mongering conservatives so entertaining. You have made Sarah Palin proud.

Jimmy – no, they just want to enact policies that have failed in every country they were implemented, and Greece is just the latest to the list, and they’ve been criticizing Harper, rather than simply being critical of the situation.

When the Nazi’s started their conquest, it wasn’t until they were bombing London that the UK finally responded. It wasn’t until Pearl Harbour, that the US, and Canada also decided to join in. The opposition would have us wait until such an attack occurs, before doing anything. Now, even though WWII started fast-paced, by today’s military terms, it’s slow, which means when it hits the fan, and things start flying everywhere, we will not have the time to do anything but run away, and hope we got far enough.

That is the reality of the world today.

Among other things, Justin is indeed good looking and I have no problem admitting that.
commented 2015-06-15 19:47:42 -0400
Do you always picture Justin as Naked——Jimmy ? No need to be ashamed. It is OK.
commented 2015-06-15 19:25:33 -0400

Nice hyperbole and fear mongering.
commented 2015-06-15 18:32:16 -0400
Jimmy – only because the alternatives would turn us into another Greece, dare I even mention potential to come under attack like Ukraine?
commented 2015-06-15 17:11:13 -0400

Does that mean that I shouldn’t be surprised that everyone here swings from Harper’s balls?
commented 2015-06-15 16:49:31 -0400
And from reading your assortment of previous posts Jimmy, no one is surprised to read your most recent.
commented 2015-06-15 16:14:56 -0400
I look forward to our new Prime Minister.

Did anyone else notice the similarity between this ad and Hilary Clinton’s speech on inequality that she gave today? Its too bad that the unions membership couldn’t be made aware of where their dues are going and how they are being misspent…
commented 2015-06-15 14:35:37 -0400
Well, it is true that across the West, the top 1% have become much richer than the broad population. But many of the 1% are rich liberals.

Thanks for the Link Joan!

Yawn. EngageCanada’s ad is boring.

http://www.workingcanadians.ca ads attacking Trudeau are much better, more pithy, entertaining and satisfying. Want to feel good? Check them out.

Dave said: “Use the bureaucracy to stifle them. The Ad Council takes complaints online and I actually did complain and the ad was yanked.” Great idea. I’ll look that up. Hopefully they’re not a bunch of lefties who will just ignore the complaint.

Facts are something the Unions have a very hard time understanding, or presenting. The fact that their so called “fact check” is nothing more than vague references from like minded far left faux news outlets, is very telling indeed. These union run attack adds, funded in large part by American based labor groups, should be investigated. Unfortunately because the MSM is also in the back pockets of these corrupt mobsters, nothing will ever be revealed, unless The Rebel does it. It’s one of the reasons why I pitched in to fund The Rebel, and will do so again in the future.

Dave – yeah, but what about all the workers, who most of which don’t actually support these causes, but get stifled by threats of getting fired.

Unfortunately we need to stop the fleecing of the workers first, before we can really start moving on unions. The only other method would be to abolish the current unions, and if workers want a union, they can make a new one, but make sure that none of the major organizers are not working the floors of their industry.

Use the bureaucracy to stifle them. The Ad Council takes complaints online and I actually did complain and the ad was yanked. If we can keep these pulled and they keep spending money for nothing, sooner or later they’ll run out.

I’m with Vlad on this one. As a PSAC member for 30 years it always steamed me knowing that part of my union dues went to support the NDP. Outright theft. Especially when you consider that the excuse they always gave for raising the dues rate was that they needed more money. Makes me grind my teeth together even now that I am 10 years retired. At least they aren’t getting any more of my money to spread their lies and propaganda. If only Brian’s piece could be broadcast nationwide. Hmm… maybe in a short version perhaps?

The coming federal election will be the ‘do or die’ action of our lifetime. For those like myself, a government worker and staunch conservative supporter who sees socialistic behavior at the place of my employment everyday, I can only imagine the heights of corruption and outright laziness that would be encouraged if any of the left wing parties in parliament was to accede to power.

I keep seeing this millions of dollars spent on political campaigns by these unions, and so I did some math, on if I won 8 million from the lottery, and what I found out was: - I could buy a $600,000 home, outright. - I could pay off my Student Loan. - I could obtain a drivers license, and spend $60,000 on a good, new vehicle. - I would have enough left over to extract $80,000 a year, for the next 112 years (give or take, not accounting for inflation)

I could do this with only $8,000,000 dollars. So when ever I see millions mentioned, I go back to this, and then think of how much a disservice the unions are to their working members.

I agree, Warren. Completely.
commented 2015-06-12 21:20:34 -0400
Canada will be in the same economic shape as Greece thx to the left. Leave while you can.
commented 2015-06-12 20:58:55 -0400
The money for these campaigns is not from voluntary contributions, it is money extorted from hard working Canadians through their union dues.

So organized labor is no longer satisfied with just “sticking it to the big, bad, corporations” — now they have political ambitions to stick it to the rest of us? God help us all!
commented 2015-06-12 19:37:35 -0400
Progressives is what communists call themselves. Makes you feel good about them doesn’t it?

Socialists love to twist the narrative. Spending cuts to Health Care? Provincial Responsibility. Live within your means. Don’t advocate for more until financial jurisprudence is nailed down. On the flip side, I remember that great financial master in the Jean Chretien Gov’t, Paul Martin claiming (when he wasn’t taking taxpayer grant money for his company, Canada Steamship Lines, not even registered in Canada!) that instead of raising taxes by 11 percent, he was only going to raise them by 9 percent. Therefore, we all got a “Tax Cut”! Those of course who believed they crawled out from under Cabbage Leaves beginning their lives lapped this up! Meanwhile Chretien and his cronies were already well engaged in ripping off tax dollars for Chretien’s friends, Hotels, Golf Courses and eventually ADSCAM. These Union ads? It is a sure bet NO ONE in the Socialist Media will challenge any of the information presented. Such is the hatred for the Harper Conservatives!
