EU vote: Scotland will ruin UK’s chance of a Brexit

James CampbellRebel Columnist

If you could pick one person from British society and be certain they would vote Remain, who would you choose?

Statistics show that you should choose a woman with a university level education and a job in the public sector:

Not only this, but the person you chose should live in Scotland.

Predictions are that Scotland will vote 55:30 in favor of Remain compared to England's 43:40 in favor of Leave.

Do the math and it's pretty clear that Scotland could tip tomorrow's vote towards a win for Remain.

Only two years ago Scotland had a referendum of its own.

A last minute push for independence from the UK was crushed by a crusade of scare tactics and intimidation.

Typical things we heard included:

"Putin wants Scotland to leave the UK."

"The Scottish economy will crash."

"Scottish nationalists are xenophobic."

Rightly, the Scottish Nationalist party (a party whom I have voted for in the past) were quick to call out this campaign of fear and falsehood.

Two years later and -- surprise, surprise -- the Scottish National party are found singing the same depressing requiem as the Remainers:

"Putin wants the UK to leave the EU."

"The UK economy will collapse."

"British nationalists are xenophobic."

Sound familiar?

This time, there was a new twist: the threat of another Scottish referendum.

The Scottish National Party have been using the fear of a British break-up to try and prevent the UK departing the EU.

By adopting the fear tactics that they previously condemned, the Scottish National party have proven to be a clan of hypocrites.

In recent statements, their leader Nicola Sturgeon exposed the party's true nature where she said that leaving the EU would put Scotland at the mercy of the Tories.

In other words: "'Left-wing' political unions = good! 'Right-wing' political unions = bad!"

They do not care about freedom. They do not care about independence. And they do not care about Scotland.

They care only about furthering their socialist agenda and prolonging Scotland's miserable existence as both a parasite and a nation of perpetual victimhood.

May all of your shameless politicians be filled with restless anxiety over this.

If that is indeed the case, we have a lot to learn how the Scottish nature of rugged individualism has been subverted during the decades since World War II…. But at least my two beloved Cairn Terriers are still true to the breed and “Och, Stubborn”!…

Scotland sounds a lot like Quebec."

And that is why we need a party that would be willing to have Canada leave Quebec

I guess the majority of Scots with pride and ambition packed up and sailed away generations ago.

If they vote to stay, the UK will be giving up its sovereignty to a pack of un-elected bureaucrats. Boris Johnson, MP and former mayor of London wrote and excellent analysis of what’s at stake: A significant percentage of EU law overrides UK’s Parliamentey legislation:

“According to the House of Commons library, anything between 15 and 50 per cent of UK legislation now comes from the EU;”

“Only 4 per cent of people running the Commission are UK nationals, when Britain contains 12 per cent of the EU population. It is not clear why the Commission should be best placed to know the needs of UK business and industry…”

Former Speaker Andrew Scheer put it this way:

“Most importantly, we have a sovereign Parliament that makes these decisions in the national interest; a Parliament that is responsive to the Canadian electorate and does not need permission from unelected, supra-national bureaucrats to make changes to our laws. And we here in Canada would never consent to forming a political union with the United States and Mexico, with a supreme Parliament in New York that we would have to consult on day-to-day government decisions, and an open border with those countries.”

In the even of a leave vote victory, it will be interesting to see what Northern Ireland and Scotland (both EU supporters) will do following the vote.

At some point, Realism must replace utopianism before irreparable harm is done.

BREXIT represents Realism.

most brits I know and work with want out, Really don’t blame them, just look at mainland Europe, slowly and steadly being destroyed by idiot politicians, stupid endless red tape, and uncontrolled muslim immigration. Europe is finished they seem to weak to even stand up for anything anymore, Canada under the liberals seems to be trying to copy them ? Not a great example to follow,

A lot of the German politicians want Britain out , especially the Austrians, so they can do their own thing again, you know like before the first and second world wars

So if they squeak by, they will be referendum on the other side
